Where is my unemployment check - NYS Department of Labor payment missing for 2 weeks
I've been filing my weekly claims on time every week but I haven't received my unemployment check in over two weeks. My claim status on my.ny.gov still shows active and I'm certifying correctly. I've been unemployed since January after getting laid off from my retail job and everything was working fine until this month. The payment history just shows 'pending' for the last two weeks but doesn't explain why. Has anyone else had their unemployment checks just stop coming? I really need to figure out where my unemployment check went because rent is due.

Check if there's an adjudication issue on your claim. Sometimes NYS Department of Labor will hold payments if they need to verify something about your eligibility or work search activities. Log into your account and look for any flags or issues that need resolution.

•I don't see any issues listed in my account but maybe I'm missing something? Where exactly should I be looking for adjudication flags?

•How did you find out that was the issue? Did they send you a notice or did you have to call?

You need to call NYS Department of Labor directly to find out what's causing the payment delay. The online system doesn't always show all the details. I had a similar situation where my benefits were held up due to an employer response they received. Getting through to someone on the phone is tough though - I had to call at 8am sharp when they opened and still waited 45 minutes.

•Calling is such a nightmare! I've been trying for days and either get disconnected or the hold time is hours. There has to be a better way to reach them.

•I actually found a service called Claimyr that helped me get through to NYS Department of Labor agents much faster. You can check it out at claimyr.com - they have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. I was skeptical at first but it actually connected me to an agent in about 15 minutes when I couldn't get through on my own.

The NYS Department of Labor system is such a mess!! They hold up payments for the stupidest reasons and never tell you what's wrong. I've been dealing with this bureaucratic nightmare for months.

•Same here, it's so frustrating when you need the money and they just make you wait with no explanation
