Where is my unemployment money - NYS Department of Labor claim filed 2 weeks ago
Filed my unemployment claim with NYS Department of Labor two weeks ago and still haven't received any payments. My claim status shows 'pending' but there's no explanation why. I certified for both weeks but the money isn't showing up in my account. Is this normal or should I be worried? I really need this money to pay rent.

Check if your claim is in adjudication - that's usually why payments get delayed. Log into your my.ny.gov account and look for any flags or issues that need to be resolved. Sometimes they need to verify your employment history or reason for separation.

same thing happened to me last month took almost 3 weeks before I got my first payment. they dont tell you whats going on which is super frustrating

Two weeks is actually pretty standard for first-time filers. NYS Department of Labor has to verify your wage records and eligibility before releasing payments. If there are no issues flagged on your account, it should process soon. Make sure you keep certifying your weekly claims even while waiting.
