NYS Department of Labor unemployment not been paid for 2 weeks - claim shows approved but no payment
My unemployment claim has been approved for over two weeks now but I still haven't received any payment. When I log into my NYS Department of Labor account it shows my weekly claims as processed and approved, but there's no payment date or deposit information. I've been certifying every week on time and my direct deposit info is correct. This is really stressing me out because I have rent due next week. Has anyone else had their approved claims just sit there without payment? What could be causing this delay?

This happened to me last month. Even though your claim shows approved, there might be a backend verification process still running. Check if there's a 'monetary determination' letter in your correspondence section - sometimes they need to verify your wage history before releasing payments even after initial approval.

•I checked and there's no new correspondence. My monetary determination was issued when I first filed. This is so confusing because everything looks fine on my end.

There are several reasons approved claims don't pay immediately. First, verify your direct deposit information is exactly correct - even a wrong digit can cause delays. Second, if you had any work during your claim weeks, even partial work, it can trigger additional review. Third, sometimes the system flags accounts for random audit even after approval. You should call NYS Department of Labor to get specific information about your account status.

•I've tried calling but can never get through. The phone lines are always busy or I get disconnected after waiting an hour.

•I had this exact problem with getting through to NYS Department of Labor phone lines. After weeks of trying, I used Claimyr.com to get connected - they have a system that calls for you and gets you through to an actual agent. There's a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. I was able to talk to someone within a day and found out there was a hold on my account I never knew about.

This is EXACTLY what's wrong with the NYS Department of Labor system! They approve your claim to make their numbers look good but then hold up payments for weeks with no explanation. I've been dealing with this bureaucratic nightmare for months. They don't care that people have bills to pay!

•I feel you on this. The whole system is broken.

Check your bank account again - sometimes the deposit comes through with a weird description that doesn't obviously look like unemployment. Mine showed up as 'NYS DOL UI BENEFIT' or something like that and I almost missed it.

•I've been checking multiple times a day. Definitely no deposits coming through.
