Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. When it's slow, here's your best bet: - Try accessing between 4:30-6:30am or 8:30-10:00pm for fastest response times - Use a desktop/laptop with a wired connection if possible - Only use Chrome or Edge - Firefox and Safari have known compatibility issues - Clear your browser cache completely before attempting - Fill out one field at a time and wait for confirmation before proceeding - If you get an error, wait 30 minutes before trying again (your session may still be active in their system) If all else fails, calling is actually better but nearly impossible to get through. Had this exact problem with id verification. Kept sendng pics for months and nothing worked. Finally I gave up on the online portal and just FAXED my id to them (yes, fax lol). Got approved in 48 hours. Sometimes the old school methods work better with these dinosaur agencies.

I used an online fax service lol. But I swear this worked when nothing else did. Government agencies love their 1990s technology.
Here's a wild thought that worked for me - I cropped my ID photos VERY precisely. Like, cut off everything except the actual ID itself, no background visible at all. The system seemed to struggle when there was too much background in the image. After I did this, approved on first try after 3 rejections.

Have you tried using the mobile app instead of the website? Sometimes it works when the main site is down. The NY unemployment app isn't great but it might be a workaround for now.
