Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. NY unemployment tax transcript confusion - $2,472 refund showing Aug 18 but $2,448 being taken back Aug 30?

I just checked my tax transcript and I'm super confused about what's going on with my NY unemployment taxes. According to what I'm seeing, I'm supposed to get a refund of $2,472.06 on August 18th, but then on August 30th they're taking $2,448.00 back from me?? Can someone make sense of this for me? My transcript shows my adjusted gross income was $68,654.00 with taxable income of $43,854.00. It shows my original tax return was filed in April 12, 2021, and I had about $7,672.00 in withholding. My tax per return is $3,318.00. There's an entry for 'Additional tax assessed' from April 27, 2020 that shows $0.00, and another one from January 18, 2021 that also shows $0.00. I already received a refund of $4,354.00 back on March 25, 2021. But what's confusing me is these new entries: - August 18, 2021: Refund issued $2,472.06 - August 30, 2021: Interest credited to your account -$24.06 - August 30, 2021: Reduced or removed prior tax assessed -$2,448.00 - August 30, 2021: Notice issued $0.00 The transcript has all these codes like "150 Tax return filed" with cycle numbers like "20211201" and "16211-476-17932-1" for the withholding. My return due date was April 15, 2021 but they received it on April 12, 2021. The processing date was also April 12, 2021. I don't have any self-employment income - it shows SE Taxable Income Taxpayer: $0.00, SE Taxable Income Spouse: $0.00, and Total Self Employment Tax: $0.00. I don't understand if I'm getting money or if they're taking money away? Please only answer if you actually know how to read these transcripts, not just guessing!

everyone saying these are automatic adjustments is right but MAKE SURE THE IRS HAS YOUR CORRECT BANK INFO. My sister's refund got sent to a closed account and it took her MONTHS to straighten it out. Check your account info on the IRS website if you can access it.

This whole unemployment tax nightmare been a mess since day 1. first they tax all of it, then they untax some of it, then they take forever to process the refunds, and then they send out confusing transcripts that make ppl think theyre in trouble when really theyre gettin money back. its like they WANT us to be confused 🤦‍♂️

NY unemployment shows 14 effective days remaining after BYE date (8/15/2021) - should I still certify after receiving payment?

My benefit year officially ended on 8/15/2021 but my payment history screen is showing I still have 14 effective days remaining. My BYE date clearly says 08/15/2021 and today is 8/16. My weekly benefit amount is $153.00, with a maximum payable amount of $3,978.00. I just certified for the week ending 8/15/2021 and the system accepted it. The payment was even released today (8/16/2021) according to the transaction history which shows "Your payment for the week ending 8/15/2021 was released on 08/16/2021." Now I'm confused... if my benefit year ended, why am I still able to certify and get paid? And should I keep certifying as long as I have effective days left? I'm afraid of accidentally committing fraud or something if I'm not supposed to be claiming anymore. My Start/Effective Date was 08/10/2020, and I still have those 14 effective days remaining according to my account. The system shows "Latest Transaction(s) as of 08/16/2021" and it says "You last certified for benefits for the week ending 08/15/2021." The page also explains that "Each day in a week (Monday through Sunday) that you qualify for benefits is called an effective day. There is a maximum of 4 effective days each week, and you must qualify for all 4 effective days in order to receive your total weekly benefit rate. For each day in the week that you are not eligible to receive benefits, you will receive one less effective day, which is equivalent to one fourth of your weekly benefit rate." There's also a note about FPUC payments: "Weekly payments for $600 showing 'O' under the 'Effective Days' column, and Debit Card or Direct Deposit under the 'Type' column, are the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) payments." Anyone else experience this weird situation with effective days remaining after your BYE date passed? Not sure what to do.

Dealing with NY unemployment is LITERALLY the worst part of being unemployed 💀 More stressful than not having a job tbh

My $300 federal boost missing from ny unemployment payment this week - still supposed to run til Sept

Just got my weekly unemployment deposit today but noticed I only received my regular state benefit of $235, not the additional $300 federal supplement. I thought the federal boost was supposed to continue until September 4th? This is the first week I haven't received it since April. Checked my payment history online and it only shows the state amount. Anyone else experiencing this? Called the unemployment office multiple times but can't get through to anyone. Getting pretty worried as I was counting on that money for rent next month.

Check the news! Just saw on channel 4 that there's a technical glitch with the $300 payments affecting multiple states. NY labor department said all payments should be processed by end of week. No need to call or do anything.

Confused about NY unemployment - benefits exhausted message but still money left?

I got laid off last October and have been collecting unemployment since then. My Benefit Year End date is May 17, 2022, and I still have around $4500 left in my Maximum Amount Payable according to my account. I've been filing claims every week like normal and getting paid without any issues until this week. When I submitted my weekly certification yesterday, I suddenly got a message saying "You have exhausted all unemployment benefits on your claim" which makes absolutely no sense to me since I can clearly see there's still money in my account. I'm freaking out because I still need this money to pay rent next month. Has anyone else dealt with this? Do I need to file a new claim even though my BYE hasn't passed yet? I'm worried they'll say I was collecting when I shouldn't have been and make me pay everything back. I've tried calling about 20 times today but can't get through to a human. Should I just keep certifying weekly even with that message showing up? This system is so confusing.

check ur payment history and see what it says for "type" on the last payment. if it says UI, then u used up regular benefits. If it says PEUC, then something else is wrong

Only got half payment from NY unemployment this week but benefit amount increased?

So I certified on Sunday like usual for last week and my payment just hit today, but it's only showing $297 instead of the normal $594 I've been getting. When I check my payment history it shows they only paid me for 2 days instead of the 4 days I claimed. The weird thing is my total maximum benefit amount actually increased by about $1,800 out of nowhere. I double-checked my certification and I definitely said I was available and looking for work all 4 days. Been receiving benefits since August after getting laid off, and this is the first time something like this happened. Anyone else experiencing payment issues this week or know what might be going on? The phone lines are impossible to get through.

The benefit amount increase is actually good news! I had something similar happen last year - got a random increase of about $2000. Turns out they did a review of my wages and found additional earnings they hadn't counted before. You'll probably get more weekly benefits going forward too!

Based on what people are saying, it seems like a system glitch affecting multiple people. The other half of your payment should come through in a few days. If you need to talk to someone ASAP, try claimyr.com - it's the only way I've been able to reach a human at unemployment lately.
