My weekly benefit amount and maximum benefit are showing $0, and my claim is still pending. I got the monetary amount letter and talked to someone last week who said payments would be released this week, but nothing yet. They said there were no issues with my claim, so I'm confused about the holdup. Any ideas on what I should do? Is waiting until Friday my best option?
I just got denied unemployment and I'm freaking out. They said I was fired for a 'company violation' but that's not true at all. I did my work, but they wanted me to stay late because others left early. I had to pick up my kid from school, so I couldn't stay. Now I'm out of a job and denied benefits. What can I do? I'm looking for work but need something to get by in the meantime. Any ideas?
lol welcome to the club ๐คก ny unemployment is a joke. good luck getting anyone on the phone to help you
Try claimyr.com if you're really stuck. It costs a bit but it got me through to a real person when nothing else worked.
I started getting unemployment benefits in December, but I just got a part-time job this week. Is it possible to keep claiming partial unemployment if I'm working less than 15 hours a week? Not sure how this affects my benefits or if I need to report it.
Anyone else feel like the whole unemployment system is held together with duct tape and prayers? ๐คฃ Good luck navigating this mess, OP!
Hey, has anyone had luck appealing a denial for partial benefits? I'm in a similar situation but got denied and idk what to do next.
I did it myself, but it was stressful. If you can afford it, a lawyer might be worth it. Or try that claimyr.com service to at least talk to someone at unemployment first.
I've been trying to get through to someone at ny unemployment for weeks now. Calling the governor's office used to work, but that's not an option anymore. I've tried the regular unemployment number, but the wait times are insane. Does anyone know any other ways to actually talk to a real person? I'm getting desperate here and need to sort out my claim ASAP.
Pro tip: if you get through to someone who can't help, ask them to transfer you instead of hanging up and calling again. Sometimes you can bypass the wait that way.

This happened to me last year. Turns out there was an identity verification issue they never told me about. Def keep calling and ask specifically if there are ANY holds or issues with your claim, even minor ones.

AuthorOh no, that sounds awful. How long did it take to resolve once you found out about the issue?

It took about 2 more weeks after I found out. Had to upload some extra docs. Such a headache ๐ซ
