My benefit year end date shows as April 2024, but I heard ny unemployment benefits are stopping sooner for everyone regardless of their BYE date? I still have about 16 weeks of benefits remaining according to my account. Will I still be able to collect until April, or do they just cut everyone off at some point? The website is so confusing and I can't get through on the phone. Anyone know what happens if you still have benefit days left when they decide to end the program? Do they just disappear or do I get to use them until my actual end date?

The NY unemployment website is so confusing and when I try calling I just get stuck in this endless loop of automated messages. I just got a weird text message saying I'm eligible for a $938.43 payment from the NY unemployment department. I clicked the link (probably shouldn't have) and it took me to what seems like an IRS page about "Economic Impact Payments Status Available" dated Aug 11, 05:42:41 pm. The page says "IRS.gov" at the top and has "Third Round of Economic Impact Payments Status Available" as the headline. It claims that "After the last annual calculations of your fiscal activity we have determined that you are eligible to receive a payment of $815.05." It also states: "Each week we're sending the third payments to eligible individuals as we continue to process tax returns. Payments are sent by direct deposit or mail as a check or debit card." There's a button that says "Claim my payment" and then some threatening language: "Note For security reasons, we will record your ip-address, the date and time. Deliberate wrong inputs are criminally pursued and indicated" The message is signed "Sincerely, Internal Revenue Service" There's also some fine print: "The IRS is working with federal agencies to get updated information for recipients to ensure we are sending automatic payments to as many people as possible More information about when these payments will be made is provided in the news release issued on March 30. 2021" What's weird is that the initial text said NY unemployment, but this seems to be about IRS stimulus payments? And I haven't even filed for unemployment recently! The threatening language about tracking my IP and criminal pursuit for "wrong inputs" seems super sketchy. Has anyone else gotten something like this? I'm pretty sure it's a scam but wanted to check here first before I completely ignore it.

I'm so confused about when my unemployment benefits are ending. My friend says the last day to claim is October 3rd, but my neighbor told me its actually the week of September 26th. I've been trying to get through to someone at unemployment for 3 days but just get a busy signal or disconnected. When I check online, the information seems contradictory - one page says benefits end on the week ending October 2nd, another says last payments will be processed for the week ending September 25th. Has anyone received official confirmation about which is the ACTUAL final week we can claim? I'm stressing because I need to plan my budget and figure out if I need to pick up extra work for that week. My weekly benefit amount is $421 so losing a week would really hurt me right now.
