Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. NYS unemployment penalties withdrawn - false work search violations cancelled, $280 overpayment reduced to $0, 16 forfeit days removed, and all benefits to be paid

Got hit with penalties and forfeit days because a career center agent claimed I refused to provide work search records. This was totally false - I had all my records! They tried saying I refused to give info but I had proof of everything. Career center supervisor tried helping but said determination letter was already sent. Had to request a hearing but after sending them all my proof (screenshots of interactions and work search records) they cancelled everything! I just received a notice from the NYS DEPT [PO BOX 15130, ALBANY NY 12212-5130] dated 02/22/2023 that says "The determination dated 02/21/2023 stating you are not eligible for unemployment insurance benefits because: you failed to provide work search records The other determination suspending you indefinetely because you did not report in a timely manner has also been withdrawn is withdrawn." The letter confirms that "The overpayment dated 02/21/23 in the amount of $280 has been revised to $0.0 the 16 forfeit days penalty has been cancelled; there is no longeramonetary penalty of $200; you will be paid whatever money you are owed. There is no longerared for a hearing." This is such a relief! The effective date shown on the letter is 09/13/2022. The letter also states "The disqualification which was imposed effective has been withdrawn You will receive a payment covering all benefits that may be due you." They also noted that "Further investigation is being made. A disqualifying determination may be issued if the results of the investigation warrant" but I'm not worried because I have all my evidence. The letter was signed "For the Commissioner of Labor, By: Unemployment Insurance Division" and has a notice at the bottom saying "Auxiliary Aides and Services are Available Upon Request and Free of Charge to Individuals with Disabilities." No more penalties or forfeit days, and they're paying what they owe me. If you're in the right, don't give up!

Here's a detailed breakdown of what to do if this happens to anyone else: First, keep ALL your work search records organized. I mean everything - screenshots, emails, confirmations, whatever. Create a folder on your computer and back it up. Second, if you get hit with penalties, immediately request supervisor intervention at your career center. Be polite but firm. Third, send a detailed appeal email with all your evidence attached. Timeline everything. Fourth, if you need to reach them quickly, use claimyr.com to get through instead of waiting on hold forever. Fifth, request a hearing right away if they don't fix it immediately. Don't wait. The system's broken but you can protect yourself if you stay organized 💯

Unemployment Office on Barclay Ave (8-43) Now a Social Security Office - Website Still Shows as Active Location Despite Being Closed for Months

Drove to the unemployment office on Barclay Ave today just to find out its now a social security office. Really frustrating that the website still shows this location as active. Wasted 2 hours of my day and gas money for nothing. They should really update their website. I had checked the "Neighborhood C Unemployment Insurance Claims" section online before heading out. The website clearly listed Barclay Ave (8-43 Barclay Ave to be exact) as an active unemployment office location. I even had it in my "Recently viewed" pages on the site. When I got there, I found out it's now occupied by some "EmblemH" organization and a "CyraCom" service. No mention anywhere online about this change. Had to speak with someone named Jean Cheng who works there now who confirmed the unemployment office moved months ago! Why is the government website still listing this as an active location? Not everyone has unlimited time and gas money to waste driving to incorrect locations. This is especially frustrating when you're already dealing with unemployment issues and trying to file claims. The least they could do is keep their website updated with correct information.

New York Unemployment keeps rejecting my SSN and PIN after losing job during maternity leave

Lost my job while on maternity leave and now dealing with unemployment issues. Got letters late in the mail about claiming benefits. System won't verify my SSN and PIN code. Called over 20 times, getting hung up on or redirected everywhere. Waited 2 hours to talk to someone who said I had the wrong department. Local offices keep sending me in circles. Now they're saying I have to wait because I have covid, but nobody can tell me if I'll be penalized for late claim. The whole system is broken and nobody is actually helping.

New York Unemployment fraud from 2020 holding up my new claim - waiting 3 months with no income

Filed for unemployment in July. Found out someone filed fraud on my account during 2020 pandemic. Completed Real ID and fraud form. Talked to fraud department in September, they said final verification call would come in 3-4 weeks. Its been 4 weeks now and no call. Going on 3 months with no income and 2 kids to support. Anyone else deal with this? Need help speeding this up.

New York Unemployment: 6 months trying to reach someone - paperwork submitted but no response

Been trying to reach ny unemployment since january. Submitted all required paperwork but getting nowhere. Called hundreds of times but just get the busy message. Anyone know how to actually get through to a real person? This is driving me crazy

My cousin works for them - they're super understaffed rn. Keep trying but maybe try that claimyr thing everyone talks about
