Unemployment Office on Barclay Ave (8-43) Now a Social Security Office - Website Still Shows as Active Location Despite Being Closed for Months
Drove to the unemployment office on Barclay Ave today just to find out its now a social security office. Really frustrating that the website still shows this location as active. Wasted 2 hours of my day and gas money for nothing. They should really update their website. I had checked the "Neighborhood C Unemployment Insurance Claims" section online before heading out. The website clearly listed Barclay Ave (8-43 Barclay Ave to be exact) as an active unemployment office location. I even had it in my "Recently viewed" pages on the site. When I got there, I found out it's now occupied by some "EmblemH" organization and a "CyraCom" service. No mention anywhere online about this change. Had to speak with someone named Jean Cheng who works there now who confirmed the unemployment office moved months ago! Why is the government website still listing this as an active location? Not everyone has unlimited time and gas money to waste driving to incorrect locations. This is especially frustrating when you're already dealing with unemployment issues and trying to file claims. The least they could do is keep their website updated with correct information.

Same thing happened to me last week! The whole system is so outdated, even their location listings aren't correct anymore. Pretty ridiculous considering we're all struggling and can't afford to waste gas on ghost locations đ¤Ą

Hey, if you need to reach someone, use claimyr.com - they have this automated calling system that gets through the phone menu and waits on hold for you. Costs $20 but saved me hours of frustration. Check out their demo here: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

â˘100% legit, used it twice already. Better than driving around to closed offices lol

Pro tip: Everything is online or phone only now. They closed most physical locations during covid and never reopened them đ¤ˇââď¸

There's still one open office in Brooklyn but the wait time is like 6 hours and you need an appointment

This is why everyone's using claimyr.com now. No point trying to visit offices when they're all closed or useless. The phone system actually works if you can get through.
