PA UC website won't let me update my address - stuck in limbo with mail going to wrong place

Hi everyone, I'm at my wit's end trying to update my mailing address on my PA unemployment account. I moved last month and I KNOW there's supposed to be an option to update personal info somewhere in the dashboard, but I can't find it anywhere! The site keeps giving me an error when I try to access the profile section. I've called the UC number at least 25 times in the past week and either get a busy signal or it hangs up after telling me they're experiencing high call volume. Meanwhile, my important UC mail is probably going to my old address! Has anyone successfully updated their address recently? Is there some trick to getting this done without talking to a human? I'm worried I'll miss something important and lose my benefits!

Did you ever figure out how to fix it? I'm panicking about missing important notices!

OMG the PA UC system is DESIGNED to be impossible to use!!! I spent THREE WEEKS trying to change my address after moving. Called 50+ times and got nowhere. The website says you can update it online but THE BUTTON DOESN'T WORK! It's like they want us to fail so they don't have to pay benefits. The whole thing is CRIMINAL if you ask me.

Exactly what I was thinking! They make it hard on purpose so people give up. Classic government efficiency lol

There's actually a specific way to update your address that isn't obvious. You need to go to your dashboard, click on "View and Maintain Account Information" (not the profile section), then select "Update Contact Information" from the dropdown menu. It's buried pretty deep in the system. If that option isn't showing up or gives you an error, it likely means there's a system flag on your account that requires agent assistance. Unfortunately, in that case, you do need to speak with someone directly. Make sure you're trying to call early in the morning right when they open (7:30 AM) as that's when call volume is usually lowest. Also, Thursdays tend to have shorter wait times than Mondays or Fridays in my experience.

Thank you SO much for these details! I tried following those exact steps but I'm still getting an error that says "Unable to process your request at this time." Guess I'll have to keep calling... ugh.

I successfully updated my address last month. Here's what worked for me when the website wasn't cooperating: 1. Use a different browser (Chrome worked for me when Firefox didn't) 2. Clear your cache and cookies first 3. Try during off-hours (I had success at 6 AM on a Sunday) 4. If you still can't get in, there's a Contact Form under the Help section where you can submit your address change request in writing Also important: Until your address is officially updated, you should submit a mail forwarding request with USPS if you haven't already. That way you won't miss any important UC correspondence in the meantime.

After weeks of frustrated calling and busy signals, I finally got through to someone at PA UC by using Claimyr. It's a service that holds your place in the phone line and calls you back when an agent is available. Totally worth it for me since I was going crazy trying to update my banking info after my card was stolen. Check out their demo video here: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 - their website is claimyr.com. It saved me from pulling my hair out!

Thank you for this suggestion! I'm getting desperate enough to try anything at this point. Did they actually help solve your problem when you finally got through?

Yes! It took about 45 minutes of waiting (which is way better than my previous attempts), but the agent was able to update my information immediately once I got through. Just make sure you have your claim number and PIN ready.

One other thing I should mention - if your claim has an "open issue" status, sometimes the system restricts access to certain account functions until that issue is resolved. Check if you have any open issues that might be causing this problem. You can see this on your dashboard under claim status. Also, while you're waiting to get this sorted out, document every attempt you've made to contact them (dates, times, screenshots of errors). If there's ever an issue with missed correspondence, you'll want proof that you tried to update your information.

That's really helpful advice about documenting everything. I just checked and I don't have any open issues showing on my account, which makes this even more frustrating!

Update: I FINALLY got through to someone this morning! For anyone else having this problem, I called exactly at 7:30am when they opened and only had to wait about 20 minutes. The agent said there was a system flag on my account because I had tried to change my password too many times in one session (I was frustrated and kept trying different things). She removed the flag and updated my address right away. Such a relief! Thanks everyone for your suggestions and commiseration.

Congrats! The early morning trick works sometimes. Good thing you got it sorted before they sent anything important to your old address.

Thanks! Yes, I'm relieved. Now I just need to make sure my weekly certifications go through without any issues.

Great to hear you finally got through! I've been dealing with a similar issue trying to update my direct deposit info. The password reset thing causing account flags is something they really should warn people about - who would have thought that would lock you out of basic account functions? I'm definitely going to try the 7:30am call strategy based on your success. Thanks for updating us on what worked!

Seriously, that password reset flag thing is such a hidden trap! I bet tons of people get stuck because of that without realizing. Definitely try the early morning calls - seems like that's the golden window when you can actually get through to a human. Good luck with your direct deposit update!

This is such a relief to see Connor got it resolved! I'm dealing with the exact same thing right now - moved two weeks ago and the website keeps erroring out when I try to update my address. I had no idea that multiple password reset attempts could flag your account like that. I definitely did that last week when I was getting frustrated with the login process. Going to try calling at 7:30am sharp tomorrow morning. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences here - at least now I know I'm not the only one struggling with this broken system!
