Can't reach anyone at PA UC for partial benefits - username/password issues and no callbacks

I'm at my wit's end trying to get partial UC benefits! My hours got cut from 40 to 15 at my retail job last month, and I can't seem to get ANYONE on the phone at the unemployment office. I've called literally every number I could find (including the Allentown office directly) and it's either busy signals, disconnects, or voicemails that nobody returns. I also realized I completely forgot my account login info from when I briefly collected benefits in 2021, so I've sent multiple emails to recover my username/password with zero response. Has anyone successfully gotten through to a human being at PA UC recently? Or know a faster way to reset account credentials? I'm going on 3 weeks with reduced pay and getting desperate.

Forgwt the emails, they never check those! The phone lines are slammed every morning try calling like 30 seconds before they open thats what I do

What time do they open? I've been trying random times throughout the day. And do you think I need to get my login info sorted first, or should I just try to file a new claim?

For partial benefits, you need your existing account since the system needs to know your benefit year and prior wages. Don't create a new account as that will cause more problems. Your best approach is to use the Chat function on the PA UC website - it's available weekdays 8am-5pm. For username recovery, you should use the 'Forgot Username' function on the login page, not email. For PIN reset, call the PIN reset hotline at 888-313-7284, it's less busy than the regular UC line. When dealing with partial benefits, make sure you're correctly reporting your current reduced hours/wages each week.

Thank you so much! I didn't even realize there was a chat function. I'll try that today, and if that doesn't work, I'll call the specific PIN reset number. I appreciate the detailed advice.

The system is COMPLETELY BROKEN!!!! I spent 6 WEEKS trying to get partial UC when my construction job slowed down this winter. Every single number goes to voicemail and NOBODY calls back!!! When you finally reach someone, they transfer you to another department and you get disconnected. PA unemployment is deliberately making it impossible to get benefits we PAID INTO THE SYSTEM FOR!!!!

This happened to me too. What worked was calling right at 8:00 am, but even then I'd get disconnected multiple times. Partial UC is especially tricky because many agents don't understand how to process them correctly. Make sure when you report your hours that you're consistent each week - any variations can trigger an 'open issue' that further delays payments.

I had the same problem last month trying to reach PA UC for my partial benefits. After days of frustration, I found a service called Claimyr that got me through to an agent in about 20 minutes. They basically call UC for you and place you in a callback queue. Saved me days of busy signals. Their site is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. Totally worth it when you're desperate to talk to someone.

Is it legit? I've been hesitant to try those kinds of services because I worried about giving more personal info out. But at this point I might try anything to reset my account.

have u tried going in person to a PA CareerLink office? thats what I had to do when nobody would pick up my calls about partial benefits. they cant fix everything but sometimes they can help with login problems or at least tell u what to do

That's a good idea! There's one about 20 minutes from my house. Do I need an appointment or can I just walk in? I'm willing to try anything at this point.

For partial UC in PA, make sure you understand that you need to report your earnings BEFORE deductions. Many people report after-tax earnings which causes issues. Also, if your hours increase above a certain threshold in any week, you might not receive benefits for that week but you still need to file to keep your claim active. When you do get through, ask them to set up your bi-weekly filing schedule properly for partial benefits. For your login issues, try the automated PIN reset system first (it's actually faster than waiting for an agent).

Thank you for the tips! I didn't realize I should report gross earnings - that's really helpful. I'm still trying to get my login sorted out, but I've been documenting my hours carefully so I can report everything correctly once I get in.

Has anyone tried using the UC Connect app? I had similar issues last year but found the mobile app was sometimes more reliable than the website for recovering login information. Also, for partial benefits, you need to make sure you're using the right claim type. Regular UC works for most reduced hours situations, but if your employer is using a Work Share program, there's a different process.

UPDATE: I managed to get through to PA UC! Here's what worked: 1. Used the PIN reset line (888-313-7284) first thing Monday morning at 7:58am 2. Got my PIN reset 3. Used the chat function on the website to recover my username 4. Was able to login and file my partial benefit claims for the past 3 weeks The agent told me that with partial benefits, I need to file every week even if my hours fluctuate. As long as I earn less than my weekly benefit rate plus the partial benefit credit (about 30% extra), I'll receive something. Thanks everyone for your help!
