Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. Quick heads up - if u miss the interview they usually give u 7 days to provide good cause for missing it. So worst case scenario, you'll have time to explain after the fact

Fax your flight itinerary with your claim ID and explanation Keep ALL documentation: - Flight itinerary - Proof of family emergency - Screenshots of attempts to contact - Dates and times of calls If you cant reach anyone before the interview, you have 7 days after to provide good cause. Here's what you need to do to fix this issue: First, document everything. Screenshot your account showing no notifications. Check your spam folders and save those too. Next, you NEED to speak with a claims specialist (not just any rep). Regular reps can't lift these holds. Use claimyr.com to get through - seriously its worth the $20 to avoid calling for days. When you get through, explain calmly that you never received notice of the appointment. Request they check the system logs to confirm if/when notifications were sent. Ask them to reschedule your career center appointment AND lift the hold. Get the name of who you speak with and a reference number. If they won't help, ask for a supervisor. Don't hang up until you get resolution. Lastly, update your contact info and opt into text notifications if possible. This happens way too often.

Here's a detailed breakdown of what you need to do: First, wait until the day after your last day of work. Filing early will only cause problems. Have these ready: - Social security number - Driver's license/State ID - Last 18 months of employment history - Your bank info for direct deposit File online first at labor.ny.gov - it's easier than calling. But if you need to talk to someone (which most people do), use claimyr.com to get through instead of waiting on hold forever. After you file, you'll need to claim weekly benefits. Set a reminder - always do it on the same day each week. If your claim gets stuck 'pending' (pretty common), that's when you'll definitely need to call. Again, claimyr.com is clutch for this.
