If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Hate to be that person, but did you try all the variations of your email? Like if you normally use name@gmail.com, try n.ame@gmail.com or na.me@gmail.com - gmail ignores dots in addresses but some systems register them as different emails. Worth a shot!

When you filed your claim originally, did you set up direct deposit then or was it added later? If it was later you might be able to use the paper check option as a fallback. Still have to talk to someone but sometimes the paper check option has a different verification process. Just thinking outside the box here cause I've been through this circus.

I set it up when I first filed. Is there a way to switch to paper checks without ID.me verification?

In my experience you still need to verify identity but sometimes they have alternative methods if you explain you can't access ID.me. Worth asking about when you get someone on the phone.

congrats on the new job!! quick question - did u have any issues when u reported job interviews during your certification? i did last week and now my payment is 'pending' instead of the usual processing 😣

I had that issue once! When you report interviews sometimes it triggers a review. Try calling them (I know, I know) - in my case they just had to verify the interview was real and then released the payment.

NY unemployment notice: Extended Benefits reduced to 13 weeks max, ALL federal programs (PUA, PEUC, FPUC, EB) ending September 5th, 2021

So frustrated with all the conflicting information about what happens after September 5th, 2021. From what I can tell, if you're not in your first 26 weeks of regular UI or your first 13-week extension, ALL benefits will stop, not just the extra $300. I got a notice on August 12 saying NY dropped below some federal threshold, and now Extended Benefits are only for 13 weeks max. The exact update states: "New York State has fallen below the rate established by the Federal government in order for the state to qualify for the highest level of Federal Extended Benefits (EB). Effective August 9, 2021, EB will be available for a maximum of 13 weeks." The notice also clearly states "Claimants who have received 13+ weeks of EB will no longer be eligible for EB on their existing claim after the benefit week of August 9, 2021, but may be eligible for PEUC or PUA benefits through September 5, 2021." This is what's driving me crazy - the notice says I should continue to certify weekly, and that "Claimants who will exhaust EB on their existing claim will be contacted by email and text message." But I haven't received any clear communication yet. They also included this reminder: "under Federal law, benefits through the PUA, PEUC, FPUC, and EB programs are available for eligible claimants until September 5, 2021." But what happens after that? They say we can reapply for new benefits or extensions but "most applications won't be approved." Has anyone gotten clear answers from actual people who know what's happening? The reps I talked to seemed just as confused as everyone else. I'm seriously worried about what happens in September when all these programs end. The notice even says "PLEASE SHARE WIDELY" at the bottom like they're desperate to get the info out, but the info isn't clear at all!

How am I supposed to find a job when nobody in my industry is hiring yet? Restaurants and bars are still at reduced capacity, events are getting cancelled again because of delta, and I'm supposed to just... what? Switch careers overnight? Start driving for Uber in an already oversaturated market? The government is so out of touch with reality.

I feel this so hard. I've applied to 87 jobs in the past month. Got 3 interviews and no offers. The job market is NOT as great as they say on the news.

Has anyone had their account randomly locked recently? I was certifying normally last week and now suddenly I'm locked out and can't get through to anyone. Worried I won't get my last few weeks of benefits before the Sept 4 cutoff.

Same thing happened to me! They said it was for "identity verification" but I already did that 3 months ago. System is broken.

Use claimyr.com to get through to a rep. I had the same issue and they fixed it in one call. Worth the money since I would have lost way more in benefits if I couldn't certify.

Missing $550.79 NY unemployment tax refund from July 2021 - help understanding my IRS transcript

Filed my 2020 taxes early last year and got my regular refund in March. When I look at my transcript, I can see that the "Refund issued" of $3,052.00 was processed on 03-18-2021. Then after losing my job and collecting NY unemployment, I had to file an amended return in June because of the unemployment tax break. Got a letter from the IRS around September saying I should be getting an additional refund, but nothing has shown up in my bank account. Looking at my account transcript now and I'm totally confused. Here's what I'm seeing: 290 Additional tax assessed 20201705 05-12-2020 $0.00 766 Credit to your account 04-16-2021 -$2,900.00 846 Refund issued 03-18-2021 $4,052.00 291 Reduced or removed prior tax 07-27-2021 -$547.00 assessed 971 Notice issued 07-27-2021 $0.00 846 Refund issued 07-15-2021 $550.79 776 Interest credited to your account 07-27-2021 -$3.79 This Product Contains Sensitive Taxpayer Data I see a "refund issued" of $550.79 from July 15th and "reduced or removed prior tax assessed" of $547.00 from July 27th, plus some interest of $3.79. Does this mean they already sent the refund? I never received anything in my account. Was the $550.79 supposed to be my unemployment tax break refund? That seems really low compared to what I was expecting. First time dealing with amended returns and unemployment taxes so any help understanding this transcript would be great. Should I be contacting the IRS about the missing refund at this point?

For what its worth, I had EXACTLY the same issue with my NY unemployment tax refund. Check was mailed to wrong address even tho I had direct deposit set up. Took 3 months and 20+ calls to finally get it sorted. The IRS is completely overwhelmed still.

Had to do a payment trace through an IRS agent, prove I never received or cashed the check, then wait for them to reissue. Total nightmare but eventually got the money.

I've dealt with this disaster too 😤 Not sure if anyone mentioned, but you can also contact your local Taxpayer Advocate Service office for help if you're having financial hardship due to not receiving your refund. They can sometimes move things along faster than regular IRS channels.

the taxpayer advocate service is also backlogged by like 6 months rn... but worth a try I guess

True but if you can demonstrate actual hardship (like facing eviction, utilities being shut off) they will prioritize. Just have to be persistent and document everything.

does anyone else think it's weird that these verification requests always seem to come right before benefits are about to end? seems intentional to me...

omg YES! happened to 3 of my friends too. They time it that way hoping people won't bother completing it

Follow the money. Every missed verification = money they don't pay out

The rationale is simple: they're hoping you wont bother with the verification since your benefits are ending anyway, so they save money. Classic NY unemployment move.
