EDD Unemployment: Missed interview call, payment concerns - What to do?
I never got my interview call for my unemployment claim. I've been waiting for hours and they still haven't called me. I'm really worried about my payment not going through. Has anyone else had this problem? What should I do?

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Write down the date and time you were supposed to receive the call. 2. Check your spam folder and make sure your phone isn't blocking unknown numbers. 3. Try calling the EDD back. Use the number on their official website. 4. If you can't get through, send an email or use their online contact form. 5. Be persistent. Keep trying different methods until you get a response. 6. Consider reaching out to your local state representative. They can sometimes help push things along. Remember, the system is overwhelmed right now, so patience is key. But don't give up! You're entitled to your benefits.

•Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try reaching out to my state rep if I can't get through soon.

•This is solid advice. I'd add: keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. It could come in handy if there's a dispute later.

•Also, sometimes social media can be a useful tool. A tweet or a post can sometimes get things moving.

Ugh, welcome to the club. 🙄 EDD's phone system is a total nightmare. I've been in the same boat for weeks now. Keep trying to call them back, but be prepared for a loooong wait.

•I feel your pain, I've been stuck in that loop too. It's like they don't want to help us out.

Has anyone tried the EDD chatbot on their website? I know it's not the same as talking to a real person, but it helped me figure out why my payment was delayed. Might be worth a shot while you wait for that call.

•I didn't even know they had a chatbot! I'll definitely check that out, thanks for the tip!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. (https://claimyr.com

•Sounds sketchy. Is it legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

•Totally get the skepticism, but it's 100% legit. I was desperate and took the chance. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny IMO.

•How long did it take to get through? I'm considering trying this out.

Have you tried calling them yourself? Sometimes you gotta take matters into your own hands. I know it's frustrating, but persistence is key here.

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. It's still a pain, but your chances are way better.

•Another tip is to use a different phone or number. Sometimes that works for me.

PSA: There's a new bill being proposed to overhaul the entire unemployment system. Might be worth looking into and contacting your reps about supporting it.

Have you checked your claim status online? Sometimes they update it there even if they don't call. Might give you some info atleast

Unpopular opinion: maybe try going to an EDD office in person? I know it's a hassle, but sometimes face-to-face is the only way to get things done in this broken system.

Plot twist: what if the EDD is actually run by a bunch of hamsters on wheels and that's why everything takes so long? 🐹💨
