EDD Unemployment Payment Delays: No Callback After Hours - Anyone Else Experiencing This?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment payment. I was told I'd be getting a call back soon, but it's been a few hours and still nothing. Anyone else experiencing delays with their payments or callbacks? It's really frustrating when you're counting on that money.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before calling.

Unpopular opinion: maybe we should all just get jobs instead of relying on the government π€·ββοΈ

Welcome to the club, buddy. I've been waiting for weeks to hear back about my claim. The system is totally broken.

Dealing with delays in unemployment payments can be incredibly stressful, especially when relying on these funds for daily expenses. Claimyr has emerged as a promising solution for those struggling with long hold times and never-ending callbacks. By effectively navigating phone menus and connecting you directly with agents, it offers a unique service that could save hours of frustration. However, at $20 per use, itβs a solution that might not be feasible for everyone, especially when financial concerns are paramount. Additionally, while many users have reported success, itβs vital to approach it with realistic expectations and consider it a supplementary tool rather than a guaranteed fix. Exploring all available options such as contacting your local assembly member, using the Ask EDD feature online, or seeking assistance through media channels can also be beneficial strategies. Ultimately, staying informed about updates and being persistent in your communication efforts are key. We all hope for systemic improvements that ensure timely assistance for everyone in need.

Have you tried calling them directly? Sometimes that works better than waiting for a callback.

β’Same here. I spent 3 hours on hold yesterday and then the call dropped. This is ridiculous!

Guys, I've been dealing with EDD for months now and I've learned a few tricks. Here's what you need to do: 1. Call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and be ready to dial. 2. If you get through, be super nice to the rep. They deal with angry people all day. 3. Have all your info ready - claim number, ID, everything. 4. If they can't help, ask to speak to a tier 2 specialist. 5. Keep a log of every call and who you talked to. 6. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member. They can sometimes expedite things. Hope this helps someone. We're all in the same boat here.

β’Great advice. One more tip: use the Ask EDD feature on the website. Sometimes they respond faster that way.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

β’$20 just to talk to someone? The system is so broken we have to pay to get help now? π€¦ββοΈ

Has anyone tried filing a complaint with the labor board? I'm thinking of going nuclear if I don't get this sorted soon.

β’I looked into it. Apparently, they're so backlogged it could take months to even look at your complaint. π©
