FL Unemployment payment delayed, claim still pending after 2+ weeks. What to do?
I'm having issues with my unemployment payment. It's been delayed and my claim is still pending. I talked to someone at the unemployment office a few weeks ago, and they said they updated my information. They told me to call back if I didn't get paid in 10-14 days. Well, it's been over two weeks now and still nothing. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what I should do next?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Been waiting for my payment for over a month now. The system is so broken, it's ridiculous. Have you tried calling them again?

I've been trying to call but can never get through. It's so frustrating. How long have you been waiting exactly?

Going on 6 weeks now. I've called like 50 times, always get the 'high call volume' message. This is insane.

6 weeks?! That's crazy. I thought my 3 week wait was bad. The whole system needs an overhaul.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/AsdxiF0IH1k

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda sketchy. How do you know it's legit?

I get the skepticism, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Can confirm, I used it too. Got through in about an hour. Beats calling 100 times myself.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, who you spoke to, and what they said. 2. Send a message through your online account if possible. Sometimes they respond faster that way. 3. Reach out to your local state representative. They often have connections and can help push things through. 4. If all else fails, file an appeal. It might take longer, but it forces them to review your case. 5. Keep certifying for benefits every week, even if you're not getting paid. 6. Check your spam folder regularly. Sometimes important emails end up there. Stay persistent and don't give up. The system is overwhelmed, but you'll get your money eventually. Good luck!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start documenting everything. Do you know how long the appeal process usually takes?

Appeals can take anywhere from 2-8 weeks, depending on your state and how backlogged they are. But it's worth it if nothing else works!

This happened to me last year. Turns out there was an identity verification issue they never told me about. Might be worth asking if there's anything like that holding up your claim.

omg yes! The ID verification thing is a nightmare. Took me 3 months to sort out. 😭

Anyone else notice how they always say '10-14 days' no matter what the issue is? It's like their default response for everything 🙄

LOL so true. I swear they have a script. '10-14 days' is unemployment speak for 'we have no clue' 🤣

Hey OP, what state are you in? The process can vary a lot depending on where you are.

I'm in Florida. From what I've heard, it's pretty bad here compared to some other states.

Oof, Florida. Yea, they've had a lot of issues. Hang in there, and definitely try contacting your state rep like someone else suggested.

unpopular opinion: maybe try looking for a job instead of waiting for a handout? 🤷♂️

Wow, way to be a jerk. You do realize unemployment insurance is something we pay into, right? It's not a 'handout'.
