EDD payment delay: Filed last week, still no money. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment payment. I filed my claim last week and requested the manager to process my payment, but I still haven't received anything. It's been almost a week now. Has anyone else experienced delays like this? Any advice on how to speed up the process or get in touch with someone who can help?

Ugh, welcome to the club. šŸ™„ I've been waiting for over two weeks now. The system is so backed up, it's ridiculous. Have you tried calling them? Good luck getting through tho...

Calling is a nightmare! I spent 3 hours on hold yesterday and then got disconnected. 😤 This whole thing is a joke.

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins of waiting that way.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery! 😔

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho.

Can you give more details about how it works? Do they guarantee you'll get through?

They don't guarantee it, but they keep trying until they get through. It took about 2 hours for me, but I didn't have to sit by the phone the whole time. When they got an agent, my phone rang and I was connected.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with unemployment for the past 6 months: • Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. • Keep detailed records of all your communications. • If possible, try to speak with a tier 2 representative. • Check your online account regularly for updates. • Make sure all your information is up to date and accurate. • If you're really stuck, reach out to your local state representative's office. They can sometimes help expedite things. Hang in there, OP. I know it's frustrating, but keep at it. The system is overwhelmed right now, but you'll get your money eventually.

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try reaching out to my state rep if things don't improve soon.

I'm in the same boat, OP. Filed 3 weeks ago and still nothing. This whole system is a joke. How are we supposed to survive like this?

Has anyone tried contacting them through social media? I've heard some people have had luck getting responses on Twitter.

I tried that last month. They just sent me a generic response and told me to call the main number šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø
