EDD payment delay after employer correction - 3 weeks, no updates. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having a major issue with my unemployment claim. It's been 3 weeks since my employer's HR department corrected their mistake about my employment status, but I still haven't received any payments. I've already submitted all the required documents, but it seems like nothing is happening. Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay? Any advice on how to speed up the process?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I went through something similar last month. Have you tried calling the unemployment office? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get things moving.

•I've been trying to call them for days, but I can never get through. It's so frustrating! 😤

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold that way.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

•20 bucks to actually talk to a human? might be worth it at this point 🤔

Here's what I'd recommend: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and submitted documents. 2. Reach out to your local state representative. They often have staff dedicated to helping with unemployment issues. 3. Check your online account daily for any updates or requests for additional info. 4. If possible, visit an unemployment office in person. Sometimes face-to-face interactions can resolve issues faster. 5. Consider filing an appeal if your payments are being held up due to a specific decision. Hang in there! The system is overwhelmed, but persistence usually pays off.

•This is solid advice. I'd add: join Facebook groups for unemployment help in your state. Sometimes you can get insider tips there.

I'm in the same boat, buddy. Been waiting for 5 weeks now. This system is so broken, it's not even funny anymore. 🤡

Quick question - did your employer actually submit the corrected info to the unemployment office? Sometimes they tell us they did but don't actually follow through.

•Oh man, I didn't even think of that. I'll double-check with HR tomorrow. Thanks for the tip!

Honestly, at this point, I'd consider hiring an unemployment lawyer. It might seem extreme, but if you're owed a lot of backpay, it could be worth it.

•Woah, isn't that expensive? How does that even work?

•Most work on contingency - they only get paid if you win. Usually take a percentage of your backpay.

•I think you're talking about SB 1234? It's supposed to modernize the system, but who knows when it'll actually pass 🙄

Have you tried tweeting at the unemployment office? I know it sounds dumb, but I got a response within hours when I did that. Worth a shot! 🤷♂️
