EDD claim status stuck - How to check if doctor's form was received?
Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my unemployment claim. Does anyone know how to check if the EDD received my doctor's form? I've been waiting for ages and I'm getting worried. Any tips on how to get an update on my claim status?

Ugh, I feel ya. The EDD system is such a mess rn. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

•I've been trying to call for days but can never get through. It's so frustrating! 😤

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and start dialing at 7:59 AM. Sometimes you can get lucky and snag a spot in the queue.

•Calling is useless. I spent 3 hours on hold last week only to get disconnected. The whole system is a joke 🤡

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. It worked for me and saved me hours of frustration.

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤦♂️

•I get it, but for me, it was worth it. Time is money, and I was wasting so much time trying to get through on my own.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there without sending a notification. It's worth a shot!

I've been in the same boat. Here's what worked for me: 1. Check your online account daily 2. Send a message through the portal asking for a status update 3. If you can, fax another copy of your doctor's form with a cover letter explaining the situation 4. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them It took about 3 weeks, but I finally got a response. Don't give up!

•Thank you so much for the detailed advice! I'll definitely try these steps. Fingers crossed it works for me too 🤞

•This is solid advice. I'd add: if you fax, keep the confirmation page. It's proof they received it if they try to claim they didn't.

lol good luck. EDD is where paperwork goes to die. I swear they have a black hole for important documents 🕳️

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help expedite things with EDD. Worth a shot if you're really stuck.

•I hadn't thought of that! How do I find my assembly member?

•Just google '[your city] assembly member'. Their office should have a way to contact them for constituent services. They deal with EDD issues all the time.

•This is actually great advice! I contacted my assembly member's office when I was having issues with my disability claim last year. They have a whole constituent services team that deals specifically with EDD problems. They were able to get me a callback from EDD within 48 hours when I had been trying for weeks on my own. Definitely worth trying @StarStrider!
