EDD Payment Status Check - Any Tips for Getting Through?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to check the status of my EDD payment but I'm not sure where to start. Has anyone had any luck getting through to them lately? I've been waiting for what feels like forever and I'm starting to get worried. Any tips or advice would be really appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to get through to EDD for weeks now. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to reach them. Have you tried checking your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before they actually send out the payment.

Yeah, I've been checking my online account obsessively but no updates there either. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: check your account at midnight. Sometimes they update the system then and you might catch new info before the morning rush.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda sketchy...

I get the skepticism, but I swear it worked for me. Beats calling 100 times a day and never getting through!

Can confirm, I used it too. Expensive but worth it when you're desperate.

Have you checked for any recent notices from EDD? Sometimes they send important updates about payment status through snail mail or to your UI Online inbox. Don't forget to check your spam folder too!

lol good luck. EDD is a joke these days. I've been waiting 3 months for my payment and still nothing. The whole system is broken af 🤡

Preach! 🙌 It's like they're playing games with our lives.

Have you tried contacting your local assembly member? Sometimes they can help speed things up.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for months: 1. Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if it seems hopeless. 2. Use the online portal to certify and check for updates regularly. 3. If you get through, ask for a tier 2 specialist if they can't help you immediately. 4. Document everything - dates you called, who you spoke to, what they said. 5. Check your mail and UI Online inbox daily for notices. 6. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member or senator's office. 7. Join Facebook groups or forums for real-time updates and tips from others in the same boat. Hang in there, OP. It's a frustrating process but don't give up!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try these steps. You're a lifesaver! 🙏

This should be pinned at the top of the subreddit. So helpful!

Anyone else notice that the EDD website is always "down for maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🙄

OMG YES! It's like they know exactly when I'm gonna log in and shut it down just to mess with me 😂

Hey OP, what kind of payment are you waiting for? Regular UI, PUA, or something else? The process can be different depending on the type.

It's regular UI. I lost my job about a month ago and filed right away.

Gotcha. For regular UI, it usually takes about 2-3 weeks to process. If it's been longer, definitely try to get in touch with them.

I'm in a similar boat - filed for disability benefits about 6 weeks ago and still haven't heard anything back. The uncertainty is killing me! I've tried calling the disability line but it's just as bad as the regular UI line. Has anyone had success with the disability claims specifically? I'm wondering if there are different tricks or if I should be calling a different number. Really hoping we all get some answers soon! 🤞
