EDD claims they haven't received doctor's form - what to do?
Has anyone else had issues with their doctor's office mailing in claim forms to EDD? I sent mine in weeks ago, but EDD says they haven't received it yet. I'm getting worried about my benefits being delayed. Any advice on what to do next or how to follow up?

I found a way to solve EDD claim form submission delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3f5FpNmNq4w

Ugh, I've been there. EDD is a nightmare to deal with. Have you tried calling them directly? Sometimes things get lost in the mail or stuck in processing.

•I've tried calling, but I can never get through. It's so frustrating! 😤

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold last week.

•Good idea! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I'm skeptical. $20 just to make a phone call? 🤔

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me weeks of frustration. Worth every penny imho.

•Can you explain more about how it works? Do they give you a specific time to expect the call?

•Yeah, so you choose the EDD line you want to call, pay, and then they start calling. When an agent picks up, they forward the call to your phone. You don't have to do anything except wait for your phone to ring.

Here's what I would do: 1. Call your doctor's office and confirm they sent the form. Get the date they mailed it. 2. If it's been more than 2 weeks, ask them to send it again, preferably with tracking this time. 3. Try to submit the form online if possible. EDD has been pushing for more digital submissions lately. 4. Keep a paper trail of all your communications with both the doctor's office and EDD. 5. If you can get through to EDD, ask about alternative submission methods like fax or email. 6. Consider reaching out to your local state representative's office. They sometimes can help push things through. Remember, persistence is key with EDD. Don't give up!

•This is solid advice. I'd add: take screenshots of any online submissions or confirmations. EDD has 'lost' my online stuff before.

I swear EDD is stuck in the stone age. Why can't they modernize their systems? It's 2023 for crying out loud! 🤦♂️

•You think California's bad? Try dealing with Florida's DEO. Now THAT'S a nightmare!

idk if this helps but I had a similar issue last year. Turns out my doctor's office had the wrong address for EDD. Double-check they're sending it to the right place!

•Oh man, I didn't even think of that. I'll definitely check. Thanks for the tip!

This whole system is rigged against us, I swear. They make it so hard on purpose so people just give up. Don't let them win, OP!

•Take off the tinfoil hat, bro. It's not a conspiracy, just good old-fashioned bureaucratic incompetence. 🙄

•Wake up, sheeple! 🐑 The government doesn't want to pay out benefits. It's all part of the plan!

Hey OP, how long has it been since your doctor mailed the form? Sometimes it can take up to 3-4 weeks to process, especially if they're backlogged.

•It's been about 5 weeks now. That's why I'm starting to get really worried. 😰

•Oof, yeah that's definitely too long. Def time to follow up aggressively. Good luck!

I went through this exact same situation a few months ago! Here's what worked for me: I had my doctor's office fax the form directly to EDD (the fax number should be on the form itself). Then I also hand-delivered a copy to my local EDD office - yes, it's a pain, but at least you have proof they received it. I also sent a certified mail copy as backup. Triple submission might seem overkill, but my benefits got processed within a week after that. Don't let them give you the runaround - you have rights and they need to process your claim!

•This is exactly the kind of proactive approach that works with EDD! The triple submission strategy is brilliant - I never would have thought of that. Did you have any issues with the local office accepting the hand delivery, or were they pretty cooperative about it?

•@Oscar O'Neil This is such great advice! I'm definitely going to try the triple submission approach. Quick question - when you hand-delivered to the local EDD office, did you need to make an appointment first or could you just walk in? I want to make sure I do this right and don't waste a trip there.

•@Oscar O'Neil Wow, the triple submission approach is genius! I never thought about using all three methods at once. Quick question - when you faxed it, did you get some kind of confirmation receipt? I'm always paranoid about fax transmissions failing. And for the certified mail, did you address it to a specific department or just the general EDD address? Thanks for sharing this strategy - it gives me hope that there's actually a way to cut through their bureaucratic mess!
