EDD SDI claim documents sent - no confirmation. How long to wait for response?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to confirm if EDD received my documents for processing my claim. I sent them in a while ago but haven't heard anything back. Has anyone else been in this situation? How long did it take for you to get a response? I'm getting worried because I really need this claim to go through. Any advice on what I should do next?

I found a way to solve EDD document confirmation delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1am0eSIGu0

Friendly reminder to everyone: be nice to the EDD reps when you do get through. They're overworked and dealing with an outdated system. It's not their fault.

True that. My cousin works for EDD and the stories she tells... yikes.

β€’

Nah, they chose to work there. They can deal with our frustration.

We should always remember they're just doing their jobs. A little kindness goes a long way.

Anyone else notice that EDD's website is always 'down for maintenance' when you actually need to use it? πŸ™„

It's Murphy's Law in action! The timing is always terrible.

KEEP CALLING!!! It took me 47 tries but I finally got through. Don't give up!!!

Persistence is definitely key, though it shouldn't have to be this hard.

lol good luck. EDD is a joke. I've been waiting since last year for my claim to be processed. The whole system needs an overhaul.

It's frustrating for sure. The system definitely needs improvements.

Have you tried reaching out on Twitter? Sometimes their social media team is more responsive than the phone lines.

I didn't even know they had a Twitter! I'll give that a shot, thanks!

I'm in the same boat. Sent my docs 6 weeks ago and crickets. This is ridiculous. We need to organize and demand better service!

Totally agree! Maybe we should start a petition or something?

Ugh, I feel you. It's like they're purposely making it hard for us 😫

Hey OP, hang in there. I know it's tough, but you're not alone. We're all in this together. Sending good vibes your way! πŸ’ͺ

This might sound crazy, but have you tried faxing your documents? My friend swears it worked faster for her.

Faxing? What year is it, 1995? πŸ˜‚ But hey, at this point I'll try anything!

0 coins

Many agencies still rely on faxed documents for quicker processing. Worth a try!

Claimyr can be a helpful tool when you're stuck in an EDD communication rut, primarily because it automates the process of getting through to a live agent. However, it's important to weigh the costs. Spending $20 for the service might not be feasible for everyone, especially when trying to stretch every dollar while awaiting a claim resolution. That being said, it has been a lifesaver for many who found themselves locked out of traditional contact methods. As an alternative, consider exhausting all free resources first, such as the EDD website, certified mail, or even reaching out via social media. Balancing persistence with resourcefulness is crucial when dealing with the EDD system. Also, be sure to stay updated on any announcements via EDD's official channelsβ€”they can sometimes provide more insight into processing delays or other pertinent issues.

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes that's the only way to get any real info.

I've tried calling but can never get through. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and start dialing at 7:59am. It's still a pain, but your chances are better.

Sophia Clark

β€’

That's a good idea, but it still doesn't seem fair that we have to jump through hoops to get basic info.

Pro tip: if you can, upload your documents directly to your EDD account online. It's faster than mail and you get a confirmation right away.

Uploading online definitely cuts down on the waiting period.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

$20 just to talk to someone? The system is so broken 😀

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

While it might work, it's unfortunate we have to resort to paid services just to get through to EDD.

Has anyone tried going to an EDD office in person? I'm wondering if that might be faster than calling or mailing.

Most offices are still closed due to COVID. It's all online or phone now.

Even when they were open, it was a nightmare. Lines around the block!

Guys, I hate to be that person, but... have you considered looking for work while waiting? I know the job market sucks, but it might be faster than waiting for EDD to get their act together.

Way to victim blame, dude. Not everyone can just 'get a job' πŸ™„

I mean, they're not wrong. EDD is so slow, might as well try both routes.

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes EDD emails end up there. Also, make sure your contact info is up to date in your account.

I feel your pain. It's like sending documents into a void. It's not easy, but hang in there!

β€’

Here's what I did to finally get a response: 1. Send your documents again via certified mail. Keep the tracking number. 2. File a complaint with your local assemblymember's office. They can often cut through the red tape. 3. Check your EDD account online daily for any updates or messages. 4. If you can, fax your documents too. Sometimes faxes get processed faster. 5. Keep a detailed log of all your attempts to contact EDD. It's a pain, but persistence is key. Don't give up!

Great checklist! It's important to explore all possible avenues.

idk if this helps, but I heard they're super backlogged bc of all the fraud cases they're dealing with. Doesn't make the wait any easier tho πŸ˜•

That's been a huge issue lately. They need more resources to handle the volume.
