EDD Address Verification Delay - Sent Docs 2/13, No Response Yet. What to Do?

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with EDD. I sent in my address verification and proof of ID through the mail, and according to USPS tracking, it was delivered on February 13th at 9am. It's been a while now, and I still haven't heard anything back from EDD. Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay? I'm starting to get worried about my claim status. Any advice on what I should do next?

Mei Wong

Ugh, welcome to the club 🙄 EDD is notorious for taking their sweet time. I waited almost 2 months after sending my docs before I heard anything back. Hang in there!

2 months?! That's insane. I thought my 3-week wait was bad. The system is so broken 😤

Seriously? I'm only 2 weeks in and already pulling my hair out. This is gonna be a loooong ride 😩

Yeah, it's ridiculous. I swear they must be using carrier pigeons to process our paperwork or something 🐦

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you gotta be proactive and bug them a little to get things moving.

I've tried calling, but I can never get through. It's always busy or I get disconnected after waiting for hours 😫

Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and start dialing at 7:59am. It's still a pain, but your chances are better.

I found a method to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery! 🤑

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho

Can confirm, I used it too. Got through in like 30 minutes. Beats spending all day hitting redial 📞

Here's what I've learned from dealing with EDD for the past year: 1. Document everything. Keep copies of all your mail, take screenshots of online submissions, and note down every phone call. 2. Be persistent. Call regularly, but also use their online portal to send messages. 3. Reach out to your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes expedite things. 4. Check your spam folder religiously. Sometimes important EDD emails end up there. 5. Join EDD-focused Facebook groups. They often have insider tips and can alert you to system updates. 6. If you can, upload documents online instead of mailing them. It's usually faster. 7. Be prepared for long waits, but don't give up. Your claim will get processed eventually. Hope this helps! Stay strong, we're all in this together 💪

Contacting my assembly member was a game-changer. Can't believe I didn't do it sooner.

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try reaching out to my assembly member.

I'm in the exact same boat, OP. Sent my docs on Feb 10, delivered on the 12th, and radio silence since then. Starting to feel like I'm shouting into the void here 😶

Ugh, it's so frustrating! Let me know if you hear anything. Fingers crossed for both of us 🤞

Plot twist: EDD actually received your docs, but they're using them as coffee coasters. Seriously though, their backlog is insane rn. Hang tight!

LOL 😂 I wouldn't even be surprised at this point

Hey, former EDD employee here. The verification process can take up to 10 weeks, especially if they're backlogged. My advice: keep checking your UI Online account, and if you haven't heard anything by week 8, start calling or contact your local assemblyperson for help.

10 WEEKS?! That's insane. How are people supposed to survive that long without benefits? 😡

I know, it's frustrating. The system wasn't designed to handle this volume. That's why I always recommend reaching out to local reps if it goes too long.
