EDD hasn't processed my mailed ID verification after a month - what to do?

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with EDD. I sent in my address verification and proof of ID through the mail. According to USPS tracking, it was delivered on February 13th at 9am. It's been a while now and I still haven't heard anything back from EDD. Has anyone else experienced this? How long did it take for them to process your documents? I'm getting worried because I really need this sorted out.

Ugh, welcome to the club 🙄 EDD is notorious for taking their sweet time. I sent my docs in January and didn't hear back for almost 2 months! It's ridiculous how slow they are.

2 months?! That's insane. I've been waiting for 3 weeks and thought that was bad. Guess I better settle in for the long haul 😩

Same boat here. Sent mine in December, still crickets. EDD is a joke tbh

Yeah, it's a total mess. I ended up calling them every day until someone finally helped me. Squeaky wheel and all that 🤷‍♂️

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you gotta be proactive and bug them to get anything done. It sucks, but that's how it is with government agencies 🤦‍♂️

I've tried calling but can never get through. It's so frustrating! Any tips on the best time to call?

Early morning, right when they open, is usually your best bet. Or late afternoon before they close. Good luck!

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery! 😤

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Can confirm, I used it too. Got through in like 30 mins when I'd been trying for weeks on my own.

Pro tip: Always send important documents via certified mail with return receipt. That way you have proof they received it. Doesn't speed things up, but at least you can prove you did your part if they try to claim they never got it.

Okay, let me break this down for you: 1. First off, you're not alone. EDD is swamped and their processing times are ridiculous. 2. The official line is that it can take up to 10 business days to process mailed documents. But in reality, it's often much longer. 3. Here's what you can do: - Keep calling. Yes, it's a pain, but persistence pays off. - Check your UI Online account regularly for updates. - If you have a state representative, consider reaching out to their office. They can sometimes expedite things. 4. Document everything. Keep copies of what you sent, when you sent it, and any communication you have with EDD. 5. If it's been more than 30 days, you can file an appeal. It's a hassle, but it might light a fire under them. Hang in there. The system is broken, but eventually, it does work... sort of. 🙃

This is gold 💯 Wish I had this info when I started my EDD journey!

Calling my rep actually worked for me. Took a week, but they got things moving.

lol EDD living up to its reputation I see. Maybe try sending a carrier pigeon next time? Might be faster 🐦

🤣🤣🤣 For real tho, I'm pretty sure my grandma could process claims faster than EDD

Has anyone tried faxing their documents instead of mailing? I heard it might be faster but idk if that's just an urban legend at this point 🤔

I tried faxing. Still took forever, but at least I knew it got there instantly 🤷‍♀️

Wait, faxing? What year is it? 1995? 😂
