EDD disability pay delayed - missing docs or ID verification issues?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble getting my EDD disability pay. It's been delayed and I think it might be because of missing documents or identity verification issues. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to speed up the process? I'm getting really frustrated and could use some help.

Ugh, I feel your pain! I went through something similar last year. Have you tried calling them? It's a nightmare to get through, but once you do, they can usually sort it out pretty quick.

•I've been trying to call for days but can't get through. It's so frustrating! 😤

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold that way.

•Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning.

Check your online account if you haven't already. Sometimes there's a message there about what's missing or what they need from you. It's not always clear, but it's a start.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•How long did you have to wait for the callback?

•It took about 2 hours for me, but I've heard it can vary. Still way better than trying to call yourself!

Have you checked if all your documents are up to date? Sometimes they need new copies of stuff and don't tell you. It's a total pain in the a$$.

•I thought I had everything updated, but maybe I missed something. I'll double-check. Thanks!

The EDD system is such a joke. I swear they make it complicated on purpose to discourage people from claiming benefits. 🤡

Here's what worked for me when I had a similar issue: 1. Double-check all your documents are uploaded and readable 2. Call first thing in the morning (like 7:59 AM) 3. If you can't get through, try the online chat feature 4. Send a message through your online account 5. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes expedite things. Hang in there, OP! It's a frustrating process, but you'll get through it. Don't give up!

•The assembly member tip is gold. They helped me sort out my claim in like 2 days when I'd been waiting for weeks.

PSA: Always keep copies of EVERYTHING you send to EDD. They've "lost" my docs twice now. 🙄
