EDD Birth Verification Docs Sent - No Update, Can't Get Through on Phone. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with the EDD. I sent in some documents for birth verification a while back, but I haven't heard anything. I tried calling them today to get an update, but their system is acting up. My card isn't declined or anything, but I can't seem to get through. Anyone else dealing with this? Any advice on how to get an update on sent documents?

Ugh, the EDD is such a nightmare! I've been in the same boat. Sent my docs months ago and still radio silence. Have you tried faxing them? Sometimes that works better than mailing.

•Faxing? What year is it, 1995? 😂 But for real, I've heard that works too. Crazy how outdated their system is.

•Thanks for the tip! I might give faxing a shot. Do you know if there's a specific fax number for birth verification docs?

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤦♂️

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta pay to play, ya know?

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member? They can sometimes help push things through with EDD. Worth a shot if you're stuck!

Okay, listen up. I've been through this rodeo before, and here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, faxes, and emails. 2. Use the online portal if you haven't already. Sometimes updates appear there before anywhere else. 3. If you fax, use a cover sheet clearly stating what documents you're sending and why. 4. Call first thing in the morning, right when they open. You're more likely to get through. 5. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member or state senator. They have liaisons who can cut through the red tape. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up!

•Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start keeping better records. Do you know what time they open in the morning?

•They usually open at 8 AM Pacific Time, Monday through Friday. Set your alarm and be ready to dial! 💪

I heard they're super backed up because of all the fraud cases they're dealing with. Might be why it's taking so long for everyone. Hang in there!
