EDD Document Processing Time? Sent Docs Last Week, No Update Yet
Hey everyone, I'm dealing with EDD and it's driving me crazy. I sent in some documents they requested last week, but I haven't heard anything back. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for them to process this stuff? I'm getting worried they didn't receive my docs or if they need more info. This wait is killing me!

I found a way to solve EDD document processing delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiF045VnLhI

Ugh, I feel ya. EDD can be such a pain. It usually takes a few weeks for them to update your claim after getting docs. Have you tried calling to check on the status?

ā¢Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold that way.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

ā¢I get that, but for me it was worth it to finally get some answers. Time is money, ya know?

Here's what I've learned from dealing with EDD for months: ⢠Always keep copies of everything you send them ⢠Follow up by phone if you don't hear back within 2 weeks ⢠Use their online portal to check for updates daily ⢠If possible, fax documents instead of mailing them ⢠Be persistent but polite when calling Hope this helps! Hang in there, we're all in the same boat. š¢

EDD is such a joke. I swear they make it complicated on purpose to discourage people from claiming benefits. The whole system needs an overhaul!

ā¢Careful what you wish for. Last time they tried to update the system it was down for weeks!

Quick question - did you send your docs certified mail? That way you have proof they received them. Might help if you need to follow up.

ā¢No, I didn't think of that. Good idea for next time though!

Anyone else notice that EDD seems to be moving even slower since the pandemic? I swear it used to be better than this...

ā¢Yep, they're probably swamped with claims. Still no excuse for the terrible communication tho
