EDD Birth Verification Docs Sent - No Update for Weeks. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble getting an update on some documents I sent to EDD. I submitted my birth verification docs a while back and haven't heard anything. Anyone else dealing with this? Any tips on how to get through to someone for an update?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been waiting for MONTHS to hear back about my docs. It's like they just disappear into a black hole or something. Have you tried calling? That's usually the only way to get any real info.

•Calling is a nightmare tho. I spent 3 hours on hold last week and got disconnected 🤬

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through in like 20 mins doing that!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•20 bucks? Thats kinda steep for just a phone call...

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho

•How long did you have to wait for the callback?

•It took about 2 hours, but I just went about my day and they called when an agent was ready. Way better than being stuck on hold!

Here's what I've learned from dealing with EDD for the past year: 1. Always keep copies of EVERYTHING you send them. 2. Send important docs via certified mail so you have proof of delivery. 3. Follow up every 2 weeks if you haven't heard back. 4. Use their online portal to send messages - sometimes they respond faster there. 5. If calling, try different times of day. Mid-week afternoons can be less busy. 6. Be persistent but polite. The staff are overworked too. 7. If all else fails, contact your local state representative's office. They can sometimes expedite things. Hope this helps! Hang in there, the system is frustrating but eventually things do get sorted out.

I'm in the same boat. Sent my docs 6 weeks ago and radio silence since then. This whole system is a joke 🤡

Anyone else notice that EDD seems to work faster when Mercury isn't in retrograde? 🤔 Just sayin

Pro tip: If you cant get through on the main line, try calling one of the foreign language lines and then ask to be transfered to an English-speaking rep. Sometimes those queues are shorter.

•Genius! Which language line works best?

•I've had luck with the Mandarin line, but YMMV

Honestly, at this point I'm convinced EDD is run by a bunch of hamsters on wheels. Might explain the delays 🐹💨

Have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds like we're back in 1995, but sometimes the old school methods work better with government agencies.
