EDD Address Verification & ID Proof Sent - No Response After a Week. Normal?

I sent in my address verification and proof of ID to EDD through mail. My USPS tracking says it was delivered on Feb 13th at 9am. It's been over a week and I still haven't heard anything back from EDD. Has anyone else experienced this? How long does it usually take for them to process these documents?

Amina Toure

Ugh, welcome to the club. πŸ™„ I sent mine in over a month ago and still crickets. EDD is slower than molasses in January.

A month?! That's ridiculous. Have you tried calling them?

Tried calling? LOL good one. πŸ˜‚ I've spent hours on hold only to get disconnected. It's like they're playing some sick game with us.

Same boat here. 3 weeks and counting. This whole system is a joke.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. It worked for me and saved me hours of frustration.

$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery! 😑

I get it, but honestly, after wasting so much time trying to get through, it was worth it for me. Your mileage may vary tho.

Pro tip: Send your documents via certified mail next time. That way you have proof they received it. Doesn't make em process it any faster, but at least you know it didn't get lost in the void.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you might be in for a long wait. EDD is notorious for taking their sweet time with document processing. My advice? Keep calling (if you can get through) and check your online account regularly for updates.

Thanks for the heads up. Any idea how long 'a long wait' usually is?

It can vary wildly. I've heard anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months. 😬 The pandemic really threw a wrench in their already slow system.

Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes they update the status there before sending any mail.

Good idea, I'll take a look. Fingers crossed 🀞

Okay, let me break this down for you and everyone else dealing with EDD's document processing: 1. Processing times vary: It can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months. Yes, it's ridiculous. 2. Check your UI Online account regularly: Sometimes updates appear there before you get any mail. 3. Keep all your receipts and tracking info: You might need to prove when you sent things. 4. Try calling, but be prepared for a battle: The phone lines are always jammed. 5. Consider contacting your local assembly member or state senator: They can sometimes expedite things. 6. If you're really desperate, some people have had luck reaching out to EDD on social media (Twitter especially). 7. Don't give up! It's frustrating, but persistence usually pays off eventually. Remember, you're not alone in this. The system is overwhelmed and underfunded, but keep pushing. Good luck!

Hey OP, hang in there. I know it's tough, but it'll get sorted eventually. In the meantime, document everything and keep pushing. We're all in this leaky boat together! πŸš£β€β™‚οΈ
