EDD SDI: Medical form mailed 2 weeks ago, status still pending - What to do?

I mailed in my doctor's medical form for my disability claim two weeks ago, but my EDD account still says "medical provider form pending". Has anyone else experienced this? How long does it usually take for them to update the status? I'm getting worried because I need this claim to go through soon. Any advice on what I should do or who I should contact?

I found a way to solve EDD disability claim status delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2cNCOhF0Y8

I'm in the same boat, friend. Sent my form 3 weeks ago and still nothing. This whole system is a joke. We should start a support group or something πŸ˜…

We really should! It's comforting to know there are others going through the same ordeal.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Keep checking your online account daily 2. Try faxing another copy of the form if you have it 3. Call the EDD office first thing in the morning (like 7:59 AM) 4. If you can't get through, keep trying throughout the day 5. Document every attempt to contact them 6. Consider reaching out to your local state representative's office for help Don't give up! The squeaky wheel gets the grease in these situations.

Thanks for the detailed advice! I'll definitely try faxing another copy. Do you know if there's a specific fax number for medical forms?

β€’

You're welcome! The general fax number is 1-855-027-5709, but double check on the EDD website to make sure it hasn't changed. Good luck!

Pro tip: If you can, go to an EDD office in person. I know it's a pain, but I got my issue resolved in one day after weeks of no progress online and on the phone.

Rajan Walker

β€’

That's a great idea! Do you know if I need an appointment or can I just walk in?

0 coins

Ezra Beard

β€’

It depends on the office. Some do walk-ins, others are appointment only. Check their website or give em a call to find out. Good luck!

0 coins

Going in person definitely makes a difference. Just be prepared for long waits.

Two weeks? You sweet summer child. I've been waiting for 2 MONTHS. The system is broken af.

Yep, they're "looking into it". Whatever that means. πŸ™„

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds sketchy. Is it legit?

Totally legit. I was skeptical too, but it saved me hours of frustration.

$20 to actually talk to a human? Might be worth it at this point...

0 coins

Ugh, welcome to the EDD nightmare. I swear they're purposely slow just to mess with us. It took them over a month to update my status after I sent in my forms. Hang in there!

0 coins

I feel you! My patience was tested to the limit. Just keep following up - eventually, it will get updated.

Have you tried reaching out on social media? Sometimes tweeting at the official EDD account can get their attention. Worth a shot!

Two weeks isn't that long in EDD time. I'd give it another week before panicking. They're probably swamped with claims.

Have you tried sending a follow-up email? Sometimes that can nudge them to check on your case. Just be polite and include all relevant info like your claim number and the date you mailed the form.

0 coins

That's a great tip. I sent an email and got a response within a few days. Worth a try!

0 coins

Plot twist: they actually received your form but their system is so outdated it takes them forever to update it. 🀑

Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check that you sent the form to the correct address. Sometimes they have different PO boxes for different types of claims. 2. If it's been more than 10 business days, try faxing the form again. Sometimes things get lost in the mail. 3. Keep calling. I know it sucks, but persistence pays off. Try different times of day. 4. If you have access to your online account, send a message through their secure messaging system asking for a status update. 5. As a last resort, contact your local state representative's office. They often have liaisons who can help push things through. Remember, document everything. Keep copies of all forms and note down every interaction. Good luck!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I went through the same thing last month. It took them almost 3 weeks to update my status after I sent in my form. The system is so slow, its ridiculous.

It might be worth considering using a service like Claimyr to expedite getting in contact with the EDD. While it does cost money, people have reported success with it when all else fails. However, it's important to weigh the cost and consider whether it's worth it for your situation. Keep in mind, though, that the EDD is a government agency and they are supposed to provide these services for free.

Two weeks? You're still in for a long wait, buddy. Mine took 6 weeks to update, and that was after calling them every single day. The system is beyond broken πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

Honestly, idk if it helped or not. But it made me feel like I was doing something at least. Just be prepared for hours on hold and lots of "we'll look into it" responses.

If you're looking for a more direct solution, have you thought about using a paid service like Claimyr? They offer a calling tool that helps you reach a live agent without spending hours on hold. While it might seem like an extra expense, the $20 fee could save you a lot of time and stress. However, before you decide, it's important to weigh the pros and cons. Some users have reported success with Claimyr, citing its efficiency and time-saving capabilities. On the downside, it's an additional cost, and relying on a third-party service might not be ideal for everyone. Furthermore, it's crucial to ensure that the service is legitimate and secure before providing any personal information. In any case, combining this option with traditional methods like faxing, calling during less busy hours, and contacting your state representative as a last resort might increase your chances of resolving the issue quickly. Remember, persistence and documenting each step you take are key in navigating through the bureaucratic processes of EDD.

Pro tip: call right when they open. You might have a better chance of getting through.

Yall ever think about how much time and money is wasted on this broken system? Like, imagine if they just hired more people to process claims instead of making us jump through hoops. SMH πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

I'm going through the exact same situation right now! Mailed my medical form about 10 days ago and still showing as pending. It's so stressful not knowing what's happening with your claim. From reading through all these comments, it sounds like 2-3 weeks is pretty normal unfortunately. I'm going to try the fax option that several people mentioned - seems like that might be faster than regular mail. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences, it helps to know we're not alone in this mess! 🀞

I'm so glad you posted this! I was starting to feel like I was the only one dealing with this nightmare. It's really reassuring to hear that 2-3 weeks is normal, even though it's frustrating. I'm definitely going to try the fax option too - seems like several people have had better luck with that. We've got this! πŸ’ͺ

I went through this exact same situation about 3 months ago! My medical form also sat in "pending" status for almost 3 weeks after I mailed it. What finally worked for me was calling first thing in the morning (like 8:00 AM sharp) and staying persistent. The rep told me that mail processing is super backed up right now, but they were able to see that my form had actually been received - the system just hadn't been updated yet. They manually pushed it through while I was on the phone. My advice: definitely try faxing a copy as backup (the fax number is 1-855-327-7057), but also keep calling. Document everything - dates you called, reference numbers, names of reps you spoke with. It's frustrating but hang in there! The form is probably in their system, it just takes forever for them to process it. You're not alone in this struggle! πŸ™

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! It's really helpful to know that the form might actually be in their system even when it shows as pending. I'm definitely going to try calling at 8 AM sharp like you suggested - that's a great tip about timing. And I'll make sure to ask them to manually check if my form was received even if the system hasn't updated yet. Really appreciate you including the fax number too, I'm going to send a backup copy today just to be safe. This whole process is so stressful but hearing success stories like yours gives me hope! 🀞

I'm dealing with a similar situation right now - sent my medical form about 12 days ago and it's still showing as pending. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been both reassuring and frustrating at the same time! It sounds like the 2-3 week processing time is unfortunately pretty standard. Based on all the advice in this thread, I'm planning to: 1. Fax a backup copy using that number someone mentioned (1-855-327-7057) 2. Try calling right at 8 AM tomorrow to see if they can manually check my status 3. Start documenting all my attempts to contact them It's crazy that we have to jump through so many hoops just to get an update on our own claims, but I guess that's the reality with EDD. Thanks to everyone for sharing their tips and experiences - it really helps to know we're all in this together! Hopefully we'll all get some movement on our claims soon 🀞

That's a solid plan you've outlined! I'm in a similar boat - just hit the 2 week mark myself. It's honestly reassuring to see so many people dealing with the same issue. I think you're smart to try multiple approaches at once rather than waiting for just one method to work. The fax backup seems like a really good idea based on what others have shared. Fingers crossed that calling at 8 AM works for you - let us know how it goes! We're definitely all in this EDD waiting game together. 🀝

I'm in almost the exact same situation - mailed my medical form about 10 days ago and still stuck on "pending" status. Reading through all these comments has been both helpful and eye-opening about how broken the EDD system really is! 😀 Based on everyone's advice here, I'm going to try: - Faxing a backup copy to 1-855-327-7057 (thanks for sharing that number!) - Calling right at 8:00 AM sharp tomorrow - Following up through their online messaging system - Documenting everything in case I need to escalate It's ridiculous that we have to become EDD experts just to get basic updates on our own disability claims. But at least we're not alone in this nightmare! Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and tips - it really helps to know there are others fighting the same battle. Hopefully we'll all see some movement soon! 🀞

Same here! Just hit the 11-day mark and feeling anxious about it. Your plan sounds solid - I think hitting them from multiple angles is the way to go. I'm also going to try the early morning calling strategy since several people mentioned that works better. It's frustrating that we have to become EDD navigation experts just to get basic information, but this community has been so helpful! Let me know how the fax backup works out for you. We've got this! πŸ’ͺ
