EDD SDI claim not updating on portal after doctor submission - What to do?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my EDD SDI claim. My doctor submitted the form electronically over a week ago, but it's still not showing up on the EDD portal. I even have a letter confirming the work status report for the time I'm off work. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do next?

Ugh, classic EDD. Their system is so slow sometimes. Have you tried calling them directly? It might be worth a shot to see if they can give you any updates.

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold that way.

•30 minutes? You got lucky! I was on hold for 2 hours last week 💀

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

•Trust me, after you've spent days trying to get through, $20 feels like a bargain lol

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep copies of all forms and confirmation letters. 2. Keep trying to call EDD. Use the trick someone mentioned about calling right when they open. 3. If you can't get through, consider using an automated calling service. 4. When you do get through, ask specifically why your claim hasn't been updated despite doctor submission. 5. Inquire if any additional information is needed. 6. If they can't resolve it immediately, ask for a specific timeline and next steps. 7. Follow up via email or mail to create a paper trail of your efforts. 8. If all else fails, contact your local state representative. They often have liaisons who can help with EDD issues. Hang in there! The system is frustrating, but persistence usually pays off.

•This is solid advice. I'd add: check if your employer has submitted their part of the paperwork too. Sometimes that's the holdup.

Have you checked if there are any known system issues or maintenance on the EDD website? Sometimes they have delays due to updates.

Friendly reminder to everyone: ALWAYS keep copies of everything you submit to EDD. You never know when you'll need to prove you sent something!

•💯 This! I learned the hard way. Now I scan everything and keep a digital folder.
