SDI claim vanished from EDD app - filed 8/21, no payments yet. Help!
My SDI claim disappeared from the EDD app. It was showing pending processing yesterday, but when I opened the app today, the claim number and info were gone from the pending claim column. I filed on 8/21 and haven't received any payments yet. My doctor sent the required note on 8/23. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm worried about my claim status and when I might get paid. Any advice on what to do?

Ugh, that sucks! The EDD system is so glitchy. I had a similar issue last month. Have you tried logging out and back in? Sometimes that fixes weird app issues.

•Yeah, I tried that already. No luck 😞 The claim is still missing.

•Dang, sorry to hear that. Might be time to give them a call then. Good luck!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤦♂️

•I get the skepticism, but it really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth it IMO.

•How long did you have to wait after using the service?

•It took about 45 minutes, but I just went about my day until they called me back. Way better than being stuck on hold myself.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Take screenshots of your claim history if you can still access it online. 2. Call EDD first thing in the morning (right when they open). 3. Be prepared with your claim number, filing date, and doctor's note date. 4. Ask them to verify your claim status and why it disappeared from the app. 5. Request an estimated payment date. 6. Get the name of the rep you speak with and a reference number for the call. If they can't help, ask to speak with a supervisor. Don't hang up until you get answers!

•This is solid advice. I'd add: keep a log of all your calls and interactions. It might come in handy later.

Have you checked your spam folder for any emails from EDD? Sometimes they send important updates that get filtered out.

•Good idea, I'll double-check. Didn't see anything earlier but worth another look.

This happened to me last year. Turns out there was a glitch in their system during an update. It took about a week, but my claim reappeared. Still, I'd recommend calling to make sure everything's ok on their end.

•That's reassuring to hear. Did you have to do anything on your end to get it fixed?

•Nope, it just showed up again. But I did call them to confirm everything was still processing correctly.

PSA: Always, ALWAYS keep physical copies of everything you submit to EDD. Their system is about as reliable as a chocolate teapot. 🍫☕

•💯 THIS. I learned this the hard way. Now I have a whole folder dedicated to EDD paperwork.

Hey OP, any updates? Were you able to get through to someone?

•Not yet. Been trying to call but no luck getting through. Might try that calling service someone mentioned above.

I've been dealing with EDD for years and unfortunately this happens more often than it should. A few things to try while you're waiting to get through on the phone: 1. Clear your browser cache and cookies, then try logging in again 2. Try accessing your account from a different device or browser 3. Check if you can still see your claim on the desktop website vs just the mobile app 4. Look for any notices in your EDD inbox online The fact that your doctor sent the note on 8/23 is good - that's within the typical timeframe they require. Don't panic yet, but definitely keep trying to reach them. If the claim truly disappeared from their system (not just a display glitch), they'll need to investigate and potentially have you refile. Document everything and stay persistent!

•This is really helpful advice! I'm new here but going through something similar. The part about checking different devices/browsers is smart - I didn't think of that. Quick question though - when you say "EDD inbox online," is that separate from the main account dashboard? I'm still figuring out how to navigate their website properly.
