Unpopular opinion: maybe try going to your local EDD office in person? I know it's a pain, but I got my issue resolved same day when I did this.
Some offices are open for in-person help. Check the EDD website for locations near you. It's not advertised much but it's an option.
This! I did this last month and it was a game changer. Bring all your docs tho, they'll want to see everything.
Have you checked if there are any known system issues or maintenance on the EDD website? Sometimes they have delays due to updates.
Friendly reminder to everyone: ALWAYS keep copies of everything you submit to EDD. You never know when you'll need to prove you sent something!
π― This! I learned the hard way. Now I scan everything and keep a digital folder.
lol welcome to the wonderful world of government efficiency π€‘ I've been waiting 2 months for my claim to be processed. Good luck!
2 months?! That's insane. Have you tried contacting your local representative? I've heard that can sometimes help.
Nah, I haven't. Might give that a shot tho. At this point, I'm willing to try anything π
lmao imagine expecting the government to be competent π€‘ welcome to the circus, we're all clowns here
bruh π
Hey, former EDD employee here. This sounds like a case of crossed wires between departments. Here's what I'd recommend: 1. File an appeal anyway, just to be safe. You have 30 days from the date on the denial letter. 2. Call the disability claims line (not the general EDD line) and ask for a 'claim review' based on the conflicting letters. 3. If you sent your docs via regular mail, resend them via certified mail or fax. 4. Check your online account daily for updates. 5. If you don't see movement in a week, start escalating. Good luck!
Thank you so much for this detailed advice! It's really helpful to hear from someone who knows the system from the inside.

Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can help push things through faster.

β’I hadn't even thought of that! Do you know how I would go about contacting them?

β’Just google '[your area] state representative' and you should find their office contact info. Give em a call and explain your situation.
