EDD SDI: Medical provider form processing delay - 2 weeks and counting. How long is normal?
Has anyone else been waiting forever for their medical provider form to be processed? I mailed mine in like 2 weeks ago and my EDD account still says 'medical provider form pending'. I'm getting worried cuz I really need this money. Anyone know how long it usually takes or if there's anything I can do to speed it up?

I found a way to solve EDD medical form processing delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTkEoIpVQkM

Here's what I've learned from my experience: 1. Be patient. It can take up to 4-6 weeks for them to process the form. 2. Double-check that you sent it to the correct address. 3. Make sure your doctor filled out EVERYTHING on the form. Any missing info can cause delays. 4. Keep calling. Yes, it's a pain, but persistence pays off. 5. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member or state senator. They can sometimes expedite things. Hope this helps! Hang in there, we're all in this together. πͺ

β’This is great advice. I wish I had known all this when I first started my claim. Would've saved me so much stress!

β’Always good to keep copies of what you send too, just in case something goes missing.

Has anyone tried going to their local EDD office in person? I'm thinking about doing that tomorrow, but not sure if it's worth the trip.

β’I tried that last week. Waited in line for 3 hours only to be told they can't help with medical forms in person. Total waste of time.

β’Ugh, seriously? Thanks for the heads up. Guess I'll save myself the trip. This whole system is so messed up.

β’Sometimes they might have different info on their website than in person. Always check both.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

β’Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

β’Yep, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

β’$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken we have to pay to use it now? π€¦ββοΈ

β’I tried it too. It worked, but I agree, it feels wrong to have to pay to access a public service.

PRO TIP: If you fax the form instead of mailing it, it usually gets processed faster. Learned this the hard way after waiting 2 months for my mailed form to be processed. π

β’Wow, really? I didn't even know faxing was still a thing lol. Thanks for the tip!

β’This! π Faxing is the way to go. It's like time traveling back to the 90s, but it works!

β’I think some places might even accept scanned copies via email. Worth asking.

I heard theres a new policy where they're prioritizing claims filed after a certain date. Anyone know if thats true?

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes EDD emails end up there. Also, make sure your contact info is up to date on your account.

β’Good point! I missed an important email because it got buried in my spam once.

To help address your concern, using services like Claimyr can indeed be very effective, as some have highlighted. However, it's important to weigh the cost against your current situation. The $20 fee might seem steep, but for those in dire need of communication with the EDD, it could be worth the investment for peace of mind. Beyond this, keeping a consistent follow-up routine is key. Ensure that all your documentation is correct and complete, as any discrepancies can cause further delays. Additionally, reaching out to your state's representatives remains a viable route if you find yourself stuck for an extended period. They often have resources to help push through backlogs. Regardless, remember that patience, although frustrating, is sometimes the only thing to rely on while the system works through unprecedented demand.

β’I appreciate the balance in your perspective. Itβs easy to get frustrated, but sometimes paying for a service is a worthwhile trade-off.

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been in the same boat for almost a month now. It's like they're moving at a snail's pace π Have you tried calling them? That might help light a fire under their butts.

Y'all need to chill. The EDD is dealing with millions of claims. Of course it's gonna take time. Just be patient and stop whining.

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Filed my medical form 3 weeks ago and still showing as pending. From reading through all these comments, it seems like 4-6 weeks is pretty normal unfortunately. I'm definitely going to try the fax option that @Ava Johnson mentioned - didn't even think of that! Also going to follow @Jamal Carter's advice about calling my assembly member if it goes much longer. This whole process is so stressful when you're already dealing with health issues. Hang in there @Mateo Martinez, sounds like we just have to ride it out π

β’Same boat here! Just hit the 3 week mark myself. It's so frustrating especially when you're already dealing with health stuff and financial stress. Thanks for mentioning the fax tip - I'm definitely going to look into that too. We really shouldn't have to jump through all these hoops just to get the help we need. Hope yours gets processed soon! π€
