EDD payment delay after doctor appointment - 1 month wait, no update. Normal?
Has anyone else been waiting forever for their payment after seeing the EDD doctor? I went to my appointment last week and still haven't gotten paid. It's been almost a month since my last payment and I'm getting really worried. I thought seeing the doctor was supposed to speed things up, not slow them down. Anyone know what's going on or how long this usually takes?

Welcome to the club, buddy. I've been in the same boat for 6 weeks now. The system is totally broken.

•Same here. It's like they're testing our patience. Have you tried contacting your local representatives? They can sometimes help.

It's frustrating that there isn't a universal solution for everyone experiencing these delays. For some, Claimyr has been a lifesaver, providing a much-needed bridge to actually speaking with a representative. However, it's important to remember that not everyone can or wants to pay for such services. Always check if there are free alternatives available, like local assistance programs or community resources. And when you do choose to use a service, verify its legitimacy to avoid scams.

Hot take: maybe if we all Venmo request the EDD, they'll finally notice us 🤔💸

•LOL, if only it were that simple. But a creative idea nonetheless!

Plot twist: the EDD is actually a social experiment to see how long people can survive without money 🕵️♂️

•If it is, it's a cruel one. People depend on timely payments to survive.

Serious question: has anyone actually received their payment on time? Or is that just a myth at this point?

•I did! Once. In 2019. It was magical.

•On-time payments are like unicorns - everyone talks about them, but no one's actually seen one

•Unfortunately true. Keeping a sense of humor helps, though.

I heard they're super backed up because of all the fraud cases. Might be why it's taking so long.

•Yes, the fraud cases have really slowed everything down. Hopefully, they can resolve this soon.

Has anyone tried sacrificing a goat to the EDD gods? Asking for a friend... 🐐

Did you call EDD to follow up after your appointment? Sometimes you need to give them a nudge to process things.

•No, I haven't called yet. I've been trying but can never get through 😫

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. It's the only way I've ever gotten through.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds sketchy. Is it legit?

•Totally legit. I was skeptical too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•$20 just to talk to someone? The system is so messed up 🤦♂️

•I get it, but think about how much time and stress it saves. For me, it was worth it.

•Just make sure to check the reviews and understand what you're paying for before using any third-party service.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assemblyperson? They can sometimes help speed things up.

•Assemblypersons can be a great resource. Their office can often provide a direct line of communication.

This happened to me last year. Turns out they "lost" my paperwork from the doctor. Make sure to follow up!

•It took about 3 weeks after I called and raised hell. Don't be afraid to be persistent!

Just a heads up, if you're really struggling while waiting, check out r/assistance. They've helped a lot of people in tight spots.

Guys, I think I figured it out. The EDD is using Internet Explorer to process our claims. It all makes sense now.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of your appointment date, who you saw, and any paperwork you received. 2. Follow up with EDD immediately. Use the online portal if you can't get through by phone. 3. If you don't hear back within 5 business days, escalate to your local assembly member's office. They can often cut through red tape. 4. Check your EDD account daily for any updates or requests for additional information. 5. If you're in dire financial straits, look into local food banks or emergency assistance programs while you wait. Remember, persistence is key. Don't let them forget about you!
