EDD Paperwork After 10 Weeks: Do I Fill It Out or My Doctor? How to Get Hard Copy?
Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out this paperwork situation for my unemployment benefits. After 10 weeks, there's some form I need to fill out. Does anyone know if it's something I have to do myself or if my doctor needs to complete it? Also, I don't have access to an online EDD account, so I'm wondering how to get a hard copy mailed to me. Any advice would be appreciated!

I found a way to solve EDD paperwork and claim issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjiFuP8hD7o

It sounds like you're talking about the Continued Claim Certification form. That's definitely one you fill out yourself, not your doctor. As for getting a hard copy, you'll need to call EDD directly and request they mail it to you. Make sure you have all your claim details ready when you talk to them!

•Thanks for the info! Do you know how long it usually takes for them to mail it out once I request it?

•In my experience, it can take anywhere from 3-7 business days. But with how backed up EDD has been lately, who knows? 🤷♂️ Best to request it ASAP!

•Ugh, the waiting game with EDD is the worst. I swear they operate on their own timeline 🙄

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at EDD! I used this site called claimyr.com - it's a calling tool that dials through the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it saved me hours of frustration. Here's a video about how it works: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

•I was skeptical at first too, but it really worked for me. Saved me so much time and headache!

•$20 to actually talk to a human? might be worth it at this point lol. how long did you wait?

•It took about 45 minutes total, but I didn't have to do anything. The service called me when an agent was on the line. Way better than spending all day hitting redial!

Pro tip: When you get the form, fill it out and mail it back ASAP! Don't sit on it or you might delay your benefits. I learned that the hard way 😩

•You can create one on the EDD website, but you need to have some info from your claim first. It's a bit of a catch-22 sometimes 🙃

I swear, dealing with EDD is like playing a game where they don't tell you the rules and change them every 5 minutes. Good luck, OP! You're gonna need it 🍀

Here's a comprehensive guide for dealing with EDD paperwork: 1. Always keep copies of everything you send them. 2. Use certified mail for important documents. 3. Set reminders for yourself to follow up if you don't hear back within 10 business days. 4. Keep a log of all phone calls, including date, time, and name of representative. 5. If possible, use their online system - it's generally faster. 6. Don't be afraid to ask for clarification if something's unclear. 7. Check their website for updates regularly - policies can change without notice. 8. If you're really stuck, consider contacting your local state representative for help. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up!

•Great advice! I'd add: join local unemployment support groups on social media. They often have the most up-to-date info.

•Totally agree. We need serious reform in how unemployment is handled. This isn't working for anyone.

Just went through this same situation last month! The form you're talking about is likely the DE 4581 (Physician/Practitioner's Certificate) if you're on disability, or the continued claim cert if it's regular unemployment. For disability forms, your doctor needs to fill out the medical portion, but you handle the personal info sections. To get hard copies, call the main EDD number (1-800-480-3287) early in the morning - like 8:01 AM sharp. Have your SSN and claim number ready. They can mail forms to you, usually takes about a week. Don't wait too long though - missing deadlines can mess up your payments!

•This is exactly what I needed to know! Thank you so much for the specific form number and phone number. I'll definitely try calling right at 8:01 AM - that's a great tip. Quick question: do you know if there's any grace period if I'm a day or two late with the form, or are they pretty strict about the deadlines?
