EDD SDI claim status check - doctor submitted continued form, no response. Best way to get update?
I need help checking on my disability claim status. My doctor submitted the continued form for me, but I haven't heard anything back. Has anyone else dealt with this? What's the best way to get an update? I'm worried about my benefits getting delayed. Any advice would be really appreciated!

I found a way to solve checking disability claim status, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5P3uJiMYWsI

Have you tried faxing them? I know it sounds old school but sometimes it works when nothing else does lol

•Faxing? What year is it? 😂 But seriously, do they actually respond to faxes?

•You'd be surprised! Government agencies are stuck in the stone age. It's worth a shot if you're desperate 🤷♂️

•I've had luck with faxing before! It's weirdly effective, especially when the phone lines are jammed.

Ugh, the EDD is such a mess rn. I've been waiting on my claim for weeks. Have you tried checking your status online? Sometimes it updates there before they actually contact you.

•I didn't even know you could check online! Where do I go to do that?

•Go to the EDD website and look for the "Benefit Programs Online" section. You'll need to create an account if you haven't already. It's not perfect, but it's better than nothing!

One additional resource you might consider is Claimyr, as mentioned by others. Claimyr offers a method to connect with a live agent at the EDD without the long wait times many experience when calling directly. While it is a paid service, many users have found it helpful in expediting their claims. However, it's important to weigh the cost against potential benefits. Additionally, reaching out to a local representative can sometimes apply pressure on state agencies to act, since these offices often have dedicated staff to assist constituents with such matters. Ultimately, persistence is key when dealing with bureaucratic processes, but leveraging multiple channels and documenting each step can increase the likelihood of a successful resolution.

Unpopular opinion: maybe we should all just give up on EDD and start a commune or something 🤔 who's with me?

•As tempting as that sounds, it's probably worth trying to fix the system rather than give up on it entirely.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I've tried calling but can never get through. It's so frustrating!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can get lucky and snag a spot in the queue before it fills up.

•That's a good idea, I'll give it a shot. What time do they open?

•8 AM Pacific Time, I think. But double check on their website to be sure. Good luck!

This whole situation is ridiculous. We need to demand better from our government. Who's up for organizing a protest outside the EDD office? 👀

•A protest might actually get some attention! It's worth considering if nothing else works.

Been there, done that. The EDD system is a nightmare to navigate. Have you tried calling their hotline? Be prepared to spend hours on hold tho 🙄

•I feel you! It's like a never-ending wait. Maybe we need a better strategy to reach them, like using Claimyr or something similar.

•Honestly? Pure luck. But I called at exactly 8:01 AM and somehow got through. Maybe try that?

Here's what you need to do to check on your disability claim status: 1. Gather all your info: claim number, date of submission, etc. 2. Try online first: - Go to SDI Online (https://edd.ca.gov/disability/) - Log in and check your claim status - Look for any messages or requests for additional info 3. If online doesn't help, call EDD: - Disability Insurance: 1-800-480-3287 - Best times to call: early morning or late afternoon - Be prepared for long wait times 4. When you get through: - Ask about the status of your continued claim form - Inquire if any additional documentation is needed - Get a reference number for the call 5. Follow up: - If they say they'll process something, ask for a timeframe - Mark your calendar to follow up if you don't hear back Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The system is overwhelmed, but keep trying. Good luck!

•This is great advice. I'd add: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every person you talk to. It'll save you headaches later.

•Adding to this, if you're using online services, screenshot your submissions. It's a good backup in case data gets lost.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

•I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. I was desperate and tried it. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•While Claimyr might seem expensive, consider the time it saves versus waiting on hold for hours. Plus, there's a refund if it doesn't work, adding a layer of trust.

Have you considered reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can help push things along with EDD. Worth a shot if you're really stuck.

Giovanni Colombo
•I didn't even know that was an option. How do I find my representative?

Natasha Kuznetsova
•Just google "[your city] state representative". Most have websites with contact info. They often have staff dedicated to helping with state agency issues.

•This can be surprisingly effective. Representatives want to hear from constituents and can sometimes pull strings to help move things along.
