EDD Disability Claim Stuck After Submitting Extra Doc - What Now?
Hey everyone, I'm dealing with a disability claim and could use some advice. My doctor filed the paperwork on November 4th, and I was asked for an extra document. I sent it back right away, but now I'm not sure what's happening with my claim. Has anyone been through this process recently? How long did it take for you to hear back after submitting additional docs? I'm getting anxious about the wait time and wondering if I should be doing anything else to move things along.

I found a way to solve disability claim processing delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w10JmUv1oIk

Ugh, I feel ya. I've been dealing with EDD for months now. It's like they purposely make it confusing 🙄 Have you tried calling them? Sometimes that's the only way to get a straight answer.

•I've tried calling but keep getting stuck on hold forever. It's so frustrating!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 20 mins of hold time that way.

•Good idea! I'll try that next time. These wait times are ridiculous 😤

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•How long did you have to wait after using the service?

•It took about an hour, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They called me when an agent was on the line.

Here's what I've learned from my experience with disability claims: 1. Document everything. Keep copies of all paperwork and note down dates of all interactions. 2. Follow up regularly. Don't assume no news is good news. 3. Be persistent but polite when calling. The person on the other end is probably overworked. 4. Check your online account frequently for updates or requests for info. 5. If you're really stuck, consider contacting your local state representative. They can sometimes help push things along. Hang in there, OP. The system is slow, but it does work... eventually.

Quick question - did you get any kind of confirmation when you sent in that extra document? Sometimes they can get 'lost in the system' 🙄

•Now that you mention it, I don't think I did. Should I resend it?

•Might not hurt to send it again with a cover letter explaining its a resend. Better safe than sorry!

I heard they changed some policies recently. Anyone know if that's affecting processing times?

•Yeah, I read something about that. Apparently they're trying to streamline things, but who knows if it's actually helping 🤷♂️

Have you tried checking your claim status online? Sometimes the website has updates before they call or send mail.
