EDD disability claim extended but continued benefits form missing from online portal - help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. My disability claim was extended for a couple months, and my doctor approved it, but I can't find the continued benefits form in my online portal. This is preventing me from certifying my benefits for the extended period. Has anyone else run into this issue? Any advice on what to do next?

Ugh, classic EDD nonsense. I swear they make it difficult on purpose. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes the forms don't show up online and you need to request them manually.

•I've been trying to call for days but can't get through. It's so frustrating!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I usually have better luck getting through that way.

•Good idea! Also, keep trying different times throughout the day. Sometimes mid-afternoon is less busy.

I had the exact same problem last year. Here's what worked for me: 1. Document everything. Write down when your claim was extended, when your doctor approved it, and all your attempts to contact EDD. 2. Keep checking your portal daily. Sometimes the form magically appears without any notification. 3. If you can't get through on the phone, try sending a secure message through your portal. Be very clear about your situation and ask them to manually add the form. 4. As a last resort, contact your local state representative's office. They often have direct lines to EDD and can help push things along. Hang in there, OP! The system is a mess, but you'll get through this. 💪

•Thank you so much for this detailed response! I'll definitely try sending a secure message. Fingers crossed 🤞

•Contacting your state rep is solid advice. They helped me resolve an issue in just a few days after months of getting nowhere with EDD directly.

have you tried turning it off and on again? 🤣 jk jk... but seriously, sometimes logging out and back in can refresh your portal. worth a shot!

I feel your pain, OP. The EDD website is like navigating a maze blindfolded. One thing that helped me was using their virtual assistant chatbot on the website. It's not perfect, but it pointed me in the right direction when I had a similar issue.

•Lol yeah, it can be pretty dense. But if you phrase things just right, sometimes it actually helps. It's like playing word games with a very stupid robot. 🤖

Hey, I found a method to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•I was skeptical at first too, but it really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

•I get it, but for me it was worth it to finally get my issue resolved. Time is money, ya know?

This happened to me too! Turns out there was a glitch in their system affecting claims extended within certain dates. Keep bugging them and eventually they'll sort it out. Took me about 3 weeks of pestering them tho 😩

I went through this exact same nightmare a few months ago! Here's what finally worked for me: Try accessing your portal from a different browser or device - sometimes the form doesn't load properly on certain browsers. Also, check under different sections like "Forms" or "Documents" rather than just the main dashboard. If that doesn't work, I'd recommend doing what @Ava Rodriguez suggested and send a secure message through your portal. Be super specific - include your claim number, extension dates, and mention that your doctor already approved the extension but the continued benefits form isn't appearing. One more thing - if you have any paper documents from your doctor or EDD about the extension, scan and attach those to your message. It helps show you're not just making stuff up. The whole system is absolutely broken but don't give up! You've got this! 💪
