EDD not paying after submitting Continued Claim Certification for disability extension. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my disability claim. I had a baby recently and my disability was extended, but I'm having trouble getting my payments. I submitted the Continued Claim Certification through my healthcare provider, but I still haven't received anything for the extended period. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get this resolved quickly? I really need those payments!

Ugh, I feel your pain! The EDD system is such a mess. I had a similar issue last year. Have you tried calling them directly? It's a nightmare to get through, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

I've been trying to call for days but no luck 😭 Always get the 'too many callers' message. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: try calling right when they open. I managed to get through once doing that. Good luck!

Calling is useless tbh. I spent HOURS on hold and got nowhere. There has to be a better way 🤔

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda sketchy...

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Can you give more details about how it works? Like, do you have to stay by your phone or what?

Sure! You just enter your phone number on their website, and they call you when they get an agent. You don't have to do anything until then. It's pretty convenient.

Have you checked your EDD account online? Sometimes there are messages or updates there that can help explain whats going on with your claim. Also, make sure all your docs are uploaded correctly!

This happened to me too! Turns out there was a glitch in their system and my certification wasn't properly recorded. I had to re-submit it. Maybe check if that's the case for you?

Oh no, I hope that's not what happened! I'll definitely double-check. Thanks for the heads up!

The whole system is rigged against us, I swear. They make it so complicated on purpose so people just give up. Don't let them win! Keep pushing until you get what you're owed! 💪

Preach! 🙌 The bureaucracy is insane. We shouldn't have to jump through so many hoops.

Calm down, it's not a conspiracy. The system is just outdated and overloaded. Still sucks tho

Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check your online account for any messages or requests for additional information. 2. Verify that your healthcare provider submitted the correct dates for your extension. 3. If possible, get a confirmation number or receipt for the Continued Claim Certification submission. 4. Write a detailed letter explaining your situation, including all relevant dates and claim numbers. 5. Send this letter via certified mail to your local EDD office. 6. Simultaneously, try to reach out via phone or their online contact form. 7. If you have a state representative, consider reaching out to their office for assistance. 8. Keep a log of all your communication attempts and any responses you receive. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up, and make sure to follow up regularly. If you're not getting anywhere after a few weeks, consider filing an appeal or seeking legal advice. Good luck!
