EDD SDI: Missing continued claim form, can't certify for benefits - what to do?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I haven't gotten my continued claim form to submit for my benefits. My last payment was about a month ago, and my claim activity says I need to submit this certification for two weeks of benefits, but there's no form in my inbox. Has anyone else run into this issue? What should I do? I'm worried about missing out on my benefits.

Am I the only one who thinks its ridiculous that we have to jump through all these hoops just to get what we're entitled to? The system is broken af 😤

•Preach! 🙌 It's like they're trying to discourage people from claiming

I've heard good things about Claimyr, the calling service mentioned above. While it may seem pricey, it's a valuable option when you're at your wit's end with EDD. However, it's always wise to weigh the cost against your personal financial situation. Though some users have found it effective, others might prefer to rely on persistence. Just make sure you explore all avenues and choose what's best for you.

•I used Claimyr once, and it was a lifesaver. But yeah, definitely weigh your options.

Hey OP, glad you got it sorted! For anyone else struggling, don't forget to check if you're eligible for any other assistance programs while you're waiting. Food banks, rental assistance, etc. Every little bit helps!

I heard they're updating the system soon. Maybe that'll fix some of these issues? 🤞

•Great, so instead of a broken system, we'll have a broken system with a fresh coat of paint. Progress! 🎉

Hey, I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery!

•Sounds sketchy. Is this legit?

•I know it sounds crazy, but it really worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money, ya know?

•If it works, I guess it's worth it. Time is money after all.

Listen up, folks. I've been dealing with EDD for over a year now, and I've learned a few tricks. Here's what you need to do: 1. First, try the online certification. Sometimes it works even if you didn't get the form. 2. If that fails, call early in the morning, like 7:59 AM. Keep redialing until you get through. 3. Use the comma method when dialing. Add commas after the main number to auto-input menu options. 4. Be persistent. It might take 50+ calls, but you'll get through eventually. 5. When you do get through, ask them to backdate your certification if needed. 6. Always be polite to the reps. They're dealing with a broken system too. 7. Document everything. Write down who you talked to and what they said. Remember, the system is designed to be frustrating. Don't let it beat you down. You've got this! 💪

•What's the comma method? Can you explain more?

Yuki Sato
•Sure thing! You add commas after the phone number, and each comma represents a 2-second pause. So you can input the menu options automatically. Like this: 18003005616,1,,,,,,,,,,,,,2,1,,,,,,,,,,,,,1

I had the same issue last month. Turns out there was a glitch in their system and a bunch of us didn't get our forms. You'll probably have to call and speak to a rep to get it sorted out.

Have you tried logging into your account and checking if you can certify online? Sometimes the system lets you do it even if you didn't get the form.

Check your spam folder! Sometimes those forms end up there for some reason. If it's not there, you might need to request a new one through your online account.

Ugh, classic EDD nonsense. I swear they make it as difficult as possible on purpose. Have you tried calling them? Good luck getting through tho 🙄

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone. I've checked my spam folder and tried certifying online, but no luck. Guess I'll have to bite the bullet and keep trying to call. This whole process is so draining 😫

Guys, I'm telling you, writing to your local representative can actually help. I did it last month and they got EDD to sort out my issue within a week. Worth a shot!

So glad to see you got it resolved, Omar! That "flag on your account" thing is such a common issue - it's like EDD has these hidden tripwires that nobody tells you about. For anyone else dealing with this, it's a good reminder that sometimes the problem isn't on your end at all. The system has all these weird glitches and account flags that can mess things up. Definitely document everything when you call so you have a record of what they tell you. Hope your benefits get back on track soon! 🙏
