EDD SDI benefits stopped, DE 2517-25 notice, certification form missing - help!

So my benefits suddenly stopped and I can't figure out why. The certification form I usually fill out every two weeks isn't showing up online anymore. I got this confusing notice (DE 2517-25) but the form I'm supposed to fill out isn't available and there's no due date listed. I've been working a few hours at one job and got some vacation pay from another, which I reported. Been trying to call for days with no luck. Anyone else dealing with this or know what's going on?

I found a way to solve EDD benefits suddenly stopped issue, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAJ40R7Y8yI

pro tip: if u cant get thru on the phone, try faxing them. I know it sounds like stone age tech, but sometimes it works when nothing else does

0 coins

what's a fax? 😂 jk but seriously, where do you even find a fax machine these days?

0 coins

lol fair point. There are online fax services you can use. Or check your local library, they sometimes have fax machines.

0 coins

Some office supply stores also offer fax services for a small fee.

I've been in the same boat, my friend. Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for months: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, messages, and notices. 2. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 3. Reach out to your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes expedite EDD issues. 4. Check for any identity verification issues. Sometimes benefits stop because they need additional proof of identity. 5. If you reported vacation pay, make sure it was reported correctly. This can sometimes trigger a review of your claim. 6. Keep certifying if you can, even if the system is glitchy. Try accessing it at different times of the day. 7. Consider using one of those paid services to get through on the phone if you're really stuck. Remember, you're not alone in this. The system is frustrating for everyone. Hang in there!

0 coins

This is gold 💯 Wish I had known all this when I first started dealing with EDD!

0 coins

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try reaching out to my assembly member.

0 coins

The identity verification thing is real. They randomly asked me for more proof after months of no issues. Took forever to sort out.

0 coins

Also, check your spam email folder. Sometimes they send verification requests that get lost there.

Hey, I actually found a way to get through to someone on the phone! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

0 coins

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

0 coins

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken we have to pay to get help now? 😡

0 coins

I get the skepticism, but it really did work for me. After weeks of trying, I was desperate. Yeah, it sucks to pay, but it saved me so much time and stress.

0 coins

How long did it take to get connected?

0 coins

Did you have to pay every time you called, or just once?

0 coins

have u tried turning it off and on again? 🤣 jk jk but seriously, EDD's website is probably running on windows 95 or smthn

0 coins

LMAO 💀 Wouldn't be surprised if they're still using dial-up

0 coins

Hey now, don't insult Windows 95 like that. It probably works better than whatever EDD is using 😂

0 coins

Maybe they could try installing updates – if their system is even capable of that!

0 coins

The DE 2517-25 notice usually means they need more info to verify your eligibility. The fact that you can't access the form is weird tho. Definitely sounds like a glitch in their system. You might need to go to an EDD office in person to sort this out.

0 coins

Thanks for the info! Do you know if I need an appointment for in-person visits?

0 coins

Last I checked, you don't need an appointment, but be prepared to wait. Bring all your docs just in case!

0 coins

In my experience, going on a weekday morning is best to avoid longer waits.

0 coins

Am I the only one who thinks its ridiculous that we have to jump through all these hoops just to get the benefits we're entitled to? The whole system needs an overhaul. 😤

0 coins

Preach! 🙌 It's like they make it difficult on purpose.

0 coins

Totally agree. We need to start pressuring our representatives to fix this mess.

0 coins

I've read some states are investing in overhauls, maybe it's time for ours to follow suit.

0 coins

Classic EDD move 🙄 They love to make things as confusing as possible. My advice? Keep calling and don't give up. It took me a week of non-stop calling to finally get through to someone who could help.

0 coins

A week?! You got lucky. I've been trying for almost a month now. This system is beyond broken.

0 coins

Any tips on the best time to call? I've been striking out every time.

0 coins

I had the most luck calling right when they open at 8am. Set your alarm and be ready to hit redial a million times lol

0 coins

You could also try calling late in the afternoon. I had success around 4:30pm once.

0 coins

Hey, former EDD employee here. The DE 2517-25 notice is usually sent when there's a question about your eligibility. The fact that you can't access the form online is concerning though. Here's what I'd recommend: 1. Keep trying to call. I know it's frustrating, but it's often the fastest way to resolve issues. 2. Send a message through UI Online if you can. Sometimes you'll get a faster response that way. 3. Double-check that all your reported income (including the vacation pay) was entered correctly. 4. If you can't get through, consider contacting your state representative. They often have liaisons who can help with EDD issues. 5. As a last resort, you might need to visit an EDD office in person. Good luck! The system can be a pain, but hang in there.

0 coins

Thank you so much for this insider info! Really appreciate it. Quick question - is there a best time of day to call?

0 coins

As a former employee, what do you think is the biggest issue with the current EDD system?

0 coins

@OP: In my experience, early morning (right when they open) or late afternoon tend to have shorter wait times. But it can vary. @profile 21: Honestly, it's a combination of outdated technology and understaffing. The system wasn't built to handle the volume of claims we've seen in recent years.

0 coins

@profile 21: Also, the lack of a user-friendly interface makes it difficult for people to find the information they need.

0 coins

I hate to say it, but you might be in for a long haul. When my benefits stopped last year, it took 3 months to sort out. Start looking for any temp work or gigs you can find to tide you over. And def follow up on that vacation pay thing - that might be what triggered the hold.

0 coins

Finding a temp job helped me make ends meet while waiting on EDD. It's not ideal but it eases the stress.

0 coins

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD system is such a mess rn. I had a similar issue last month when I reported some part-time work. It's like their system freaks out anytime there's a change. Have you tried reaching out through their online messaging system?

0 coins

I also found their online messaging system somewhat helpful. But it took them a week to get back to me. 😕

0 coins

Hang in there, OP! I know it feels hopeless, but don't give up. I was in your shoes a few months ago and eventually got it sorted. Sending good vibes your way! ❤️

0 coins

Sometimes just knowing others have been through it and survived helps a lot. Stay strong, OP!

0 coins

Oof, sounds rough buddy. Have you tried sacrificing a goat to the EDD gods? Might work better than actually calling them 🐐🔮

0 coins

Instructions unclear. Sacrificed my phone to the EDD gods. Still no answer. 📱🔥

0 coins

I tried that last week. Now I'm out of benefits AND a goat. 0/10 would not recommend.

0 coins

Maybe that's what we're doing wrong; perhaps it should be chickens instead of goats. 🐔🔮

0 coins

Hello, OP! It sounds like you're experiencing a common issue with the EDD system when there are changes to your employment or income. The notice DE 2517-25 typically indicates a need for additional information to confirm your eligibility. Unfortunately, this can sometimes lead to delays in benefit processing if the system doesn't recognize input correctly. Claimyr can be a tool to help you get through EDD’s busy phone lines, although it comes with a fee. While some users have found it helpful, others feel it's unfair to pay additional charges for access to public services. As an alternative, you could attempt to reach out to your local representative for assistance with EDD issues. Additionally, documenting your interactions with EDD and trying different times to access their services might eventually yield results. In case of persistent issues, visiting an EDD office in person could also help resolve the problem. Stay patient and persistent; no doubt the system's inefficiencies can be frustrating, but you're not in this alone. Good luck!

I'm dealing with something similar right now! My benefits got suspended last week after I reported some freelance income, and I'm also missing the usual certification form. The whole system seems to glitch whenever there's any kind of income change. One thing that helped me was checking if there are any pending "to-do" items in your UI Online account - sometimes they hide important forms or requests in there. Also, try logging in at different times of day - I've noticed the site works better early morning or late at night when there's less traffic. For the phone calls, I've been using the trick where you call right at 8:00 AM sharp and immediately press the prompts to get to a human (1-2-1 I think?). Still takes forever but seems to work better than calling later in the day. Hope this helps and you get it sorted soon! The stress of not knowing when benefits will resume is the worst part. 😓

0 coins

Thanks for sharing your experience! I'm definitely going to try checking for those hidden "to-do" items - I hadn't thought to look there. The freelance income reporting triggering these issues seems to be a common theme. Really appreciate the tip about calling right at 8 AM with the 1-2-1 prompts too. It's reassuring to know I'm not the only one dealing with this mess right now. The uncertainty is definitely the hardest part - not knowing when or if the benefits will start up again makes it impossible to plan anything. Hope you get yours sorted out soon too! 🤞

0 coins

I'm so sorry you're going through this - the EDD system can be incredibly frustrating when benefits suddenly stop! I went through something similar a few months ago and here's what worked for me: First, definitely check your UI Online account for any hidden messages or pending items like others mentioned. Sometimes they bury important requests in there that aren't obvious. For the DE 2517-25 notice without a due date - that's actually pretty common when they need more info but their system glitches. I'd recommend calling the technical support line (not the regular claims line) since this sounds like a system issue preventing you from accessing the form. The vacation pay reporting might have triggered an automatic review. Make sure you have all your pay stubs and documentation ready when you do get through to someone. Also, if you haven't already, try accessing the site through a different browser or clearing your cache. Sometimes their ancient system doesn't play well with certain browsers. One last thing - consider reaching out to your local assembly member's office. They often have staff specifically trained to help with EDD issues and can sometimes get faster responses than calling directly. Don't give up! I know it feels hopeless but most of these issues do get resolved eventually. Keeping detailed records of everything will help when you finally get through to someone. Good luck! 🤞

0 coins

This is incredibly helpful, thank you! I never thought about trying the technical support line instead of the regular claims line - that makes so much sense since this seems like a system glitch. I'm definitely going to try a different browser too, since I've been using Chrome and their site does seem pretty outdated. The assembly member tip is something I keep hearing about but haven't tried yet - do you happen to know if there's a specific way to contact them about EDD issues, or do I just call their regular office? Really appreciate you taking the time to write such a detailed response. It gives me hope that this will eventually get sorted out!

I'm dealing with almost the exact same situation right now! My SDI benefits stopped about 10 days ago and I also can't find the certification form anywhere in the system. Got a similar notice but no clear instructions on what to do next. What's really frustrating is that I've been reporting my part-time work income honestly this whole time, and suddenly the system acts like I'm doing something wrong. I've tried calling probably 50+ times with no luck getting through. One thing I noticed though - when I log into UI Online late at night (like after 11 PM), sometimes different options show up that aren't there during the day. Haven't found the missing form yet, but it's worth trying if you haven't already. Also, I read somewhere that vacation pay can sometimes trigger these automatic holds even when reported correctly because their system flags any "unusual" income patterns. So annoying that we're penalized for being honest about our earnings! Keep us posted if you make any progress - I'm following this thread closely since we're in the same boat. This whole experience has made me realize how broken the system really is. Hang in there! 🤞

0 coins

I'm so glad I found this thread! I'm going through the exact same thing - my SDI benefits stopped two weeks ago and that certification form just vanished from my account. It's like the system decided to punish me for reporting my part-time hours honestly. The late night login tip is brilliant - I never would have thought of that! I'm definitely going to try logging in after 11 PM tonight to see if anything different shows up. It's crazy that we have to become detective-level experts just to access benefits we're entitled to. Thanks for sharing your experience and please keep us updated if you discover anything new. At least knowing we're not alone in this makes it slightly less maddening! 😤

I'm going through something very similar! My SDI benefits stopped about a week ago and I'm also missing that certification form that usually pops up every two weeks. It's so frustrating because I've been diligently reporting my part-time income from my job at a local retail store, and now it feels like the system is punishing me for being honest. I tried the late-night login trick someone mentioned and actually found a "pending eligibility review" message that wasn't showing up during regular hours - so that tip really works! Still can't access the actual form I need to fill out though. One thing that's been driving me crazy is that the DE 2517-25 notice says to complete a form but doesn't specify WHICH form or give any deadline. It's like they expect us to be mind readers! I'm planning to try calling first thing Monday morning right at 8 AM with those button prompts (1-2-1) that someone shared. If that doesn't work, I might have to bite the bullet and visit an EDD office in person, even though the thought of sitting there for hours makes me want to cry. Has anyone had luck with sending secure messages through the UI Online system? I'm wondering if that might be faster than the phone at this point. This whole situation is such a mess - we shouldn't have to become EDD experts just to get the benefits we've paid into! 😞

0 coins

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this nightmare too! The "pending eligibility review" message showing up only at night is such a perfect example of how broken their system is - like, why would critical information be hidden during normal business hours?? I've had mixed results with the secure messaging system. Sometimes they respond within a few days, but other times it's radio silence for weeks. It's worth trying though since you have a paper trail that way. When you do message them, be super specific about the DE 2517-25 notice and mention that you can't access the required form - include your claim number and the exact error you're seeing. The 8 AM calling strategy has worked for some people I know, but honestly prepare yourself mentally for potentially hours of being on hold. Maybe set up a comfortable spot with snacks and entertainment while you wait! Going to the office in person is brutal but sometimes it's the only thing that works. If you do go that route, bring literally every document you can think of - pay stubs, ID, the notice, screenshots of error messages, everything. They seem to always ask for something you don't expect. This whole system makes me so angry - we pay into it and then have to jump through impossible hoops to get help. You're definitely not alone in this frustration! Keep us posted on what works for you! 💪

I'm in the exact same situation and it's driving me absolutely insane! My SDI benefits stopped three days ago and that biweekly certification form just disappeared from my account like it never existed. I've been working a few hours at a restaurant and reported everything properly, but apparently their system can't handle basic income reporting without having a complete meltdown. What's really getting to me is how there's zero communication about what's actually happening. The DE 2517-25 notice might as well be written in hieroglyphics for all the useful information it contains. No form, no deadline, no clear instructions - just "complete required documentation" like we're supposed to magically know what that means. I tried the late-night login trick and found some hidden messages too, but still no access to whatever form they want me to fill out. It's like their website was designed by someone who actively hates people trying to access benefits. Planning to camp out on the phone lines starting at 8 AM tomorrow with multiple devices. If that doesn't work, I guess I'll have to take a day off work (ironically losing more income) to sit in an EDD office for who knows how long. The whole situation is beyond frustrating - we shouldn't need a PhD in EDD navigation just to get benefits we've earned! 😤 Thanks for this thread though - at least knowing others are dealing with the same nightmare makes me feel slightly less crazy. Will definitely update if I make any progress!

I feel your pain so much! I'm new to this whole SDI system and honestly had no idea it could just randomly break like this. Reading through everyone's experiences here is both reassuring and terrifying - reassuring that I'm not alone, but terrifying that this seems to be such a common problem with no clear solution. The fact that we have to become amateur detectives just to figure out why our benefits stopped is absolutely ridiculous. I really hope the multi-device phone strategy works for you tomorrow - that's actually brilliant! Please keep us updated because I'm probably going to be in the same boat soon if they don't fix whatever is causing these system glitches. Sending solidarity and good vibes your way! 🤞

I'm dealing with the exact same issue! My SDI benefits stopped last week and that certification form just vanished from my UI Online account. I've been reporting part-time work from my job at a coffee shop, and like you, I also had some vacation pay that I reported honestly. The most frustrating part is getting that DE 2517-25 notice with zero clear instructions - it's like they expect us to be psychic! I've tried calling dozens of times with no luck getting through. One thing that's helped a bit: I tried logging in really early in the morning (around 6 AM) and found a "pending review" notification that wasn't visible during normal hours. Still can't access whatever form they want me to complete though. I'm planning to try the assembly member route that others have mentioned since the phone system seems impossible. It's crazy that we have to become EDD experts just to access benefits we've paid into! Stay strong - from reading this thread it seems like most people eventually get it resolved, even though the process is absolutely maddening. Will definitely share if I make any breakthrough!

0 coins

I'm so relieved to find others going through the exact same thing! Just started dealing with SDI recently and had no idea the system could just randomly break like this. The early morning login tip is really smart - I never would have thought to try different times of day to access different parts of the system. It's absolutely insane that we have to figure out these weird workarounds just to see basic information about our own claims! The assembly member route sounds promising since calling seems to be a dead end for everyone. Really hoping you make progress with that approach - please keep us posted! This whole experience is making me realize how many people must be struggling with this broken system. At least we're all in it together! 🤞

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this - the EDD system really seems to have major issues when people report any kind of income changes! Reading through all these similar experiences, it's clear this is a widespread problem affecting tons of people right now. A few things that might help based on what I've learned from dealing with EDD issues: 1. Try the "backdoor" phone number approach - some people have better luck calling the employer services line and asking to be transferred to disability claims. It's worth a shot since the main lines are always jammed. 2. Document absolutely everything - take screenshots of error messages, save copies of that DE 2517-25 notice, and keep a log of all your call attempts. This will help when you finally get through to someone. 3. Check if your local library has free legal aid services - many offer assistance with government benefit issues and they know all the tricks for navigating EDD. 4. The vacation pay reporting is probably what triggered this - EDD's system seems to flag any "irregular" income even when it's reported correctly. Make sure you have all documentation about those payments ready. The fact that so many people are dealing with identical issues suggests this is a system-wide glitch rather than individual account problems. Hopefully that means they'll fix it soon, but in the meantime don't give up! You deserve those benefits and you did everything right by reporting your income honestly. Hang in there - this community has your back! 💪

0 coins

This is such helpful advice, thank you! The "backdoor" phone number approach is genius - I never would have thought to call the employer services line and ask for a transfer. That could definitely be a way around those impossible wait times on the main disability line. The library legal aid tip is also brilliant - I had no idea that was even a thing! It's so frustrating that we need to become expert strategists just to access benefits we've already paid into, but I really appreciate you sharing these creative workarounds. The documentation point is so important too - I've been screenshotting everything but wasn't thinking about keeping a call log. You're probably right that this is a system-wide issue given how many people are experiencing the exact same problem. Hopefully they'll get it sorted out soon, but in the meantime these strategies give me some new things to try. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge - this community really does make dealing with this nightmare a little more bearable! 🙏

I'm going through the exact same nightmare right now! My SDI benefits stopped about 5 days ago and that certification form completely disappeared from my account. I've been honestly reporting income from my part-time job at a bookstore, plus some freelance writing work, and now it's like the system is punishing me for being transparent. The DE 2517-25 notice is absolutely useless - it's like they wrote it specifically to confuse people. "Complete required documentation" but which documentation?? Where?? It's maddening! I've tried the late-night login trick and found some hidden messages, but still can't access whatever mystery form they want. Planning to try that backdoor phone number approach someone mentioned - calling employer services and asking for a transfer sounds way smarter than banging my head against the main disability line. It's both comforting and terrifying to see so many people dealing with identical issues. At least we know it's not just us being incompetent - their system is genuinely broken! Thanks for starting this thread OP - sometimes just knowing you're not alone in bureaucratic hell makes it slightly more bearable. Will definitely update if I make any progress with the employer services transfer trick! 🤞

I'm new to SDI but dealing with something similar - my benefits just stopped out of nowhere last week! The whole system seems designed to make us give up. I tried calling during different hours but still can't get through. Really hoping that employer services transfer trick works for you - please let us know how it goes! It's crazy that we have to crowdsource solutions just to access our own benefits. Thanks for sharing your experience, it helps knowing we're all fighting the same broken system together! 💪

I'm dealing with almost the exact same situation! My SDI benefits stopped about two weeks ago after I reported some part-time work at a retail store. The certification form that usually shows up every two weeks just vanished from my UI Online account like it never existed. I also got that cryptic DE 2517-25 notice with absolutely no helpful information - just "complete required documentation" with no indication of what documentation or where to find it. It's like they deliberately wrote it to be as confusing as possible! After reading through all these comments, I tried the late-night login trick (around midnight) and actually found a "pending eligibility determination" message that doesn't show up during the day. Still can't access whatever form they want me to fill out though. I'm planning to try that employer services phone number approach tomorrow - calling their employer line and asking to be transferred to disability claims sounds way more promising than the endless busy signals on the main number. It's both reassuring and infuriating to see so many people dealing with identical issues. At least we know it's a system-wide problem and not something we did wrong! Thanks for starting this conversation OP - knowing we're not alone in this bureaucratic nightmare definitely helps. I'll update if the phone transfer trick works! 🤞

I'm so glad I found this thread! I just started dealing with SDI recently and my benefits haven't stopped yet, but reading everyone's experiences has me really worried about what might happen when I report my upcoming part-time work. It's terrifying that the system seems to randomly punish people for being honest about their income. The late-night login discovery is fascinating - what kind of system hides critical information during business hours?? That employer services transfer strategy sounds really promising - I'd never heard of that approach before. Please keep us updated on whether it works! It's amazing how we've all had to become amateur EDD detectives just to navigate a system that should be straightforward. Thanks for sharing your experience and good luck with that phone call tomorrow! 🍀
