EDD certification disappeared after submitting - weeks vanished with 'no weeks to certify' message
I'm completely baffled by what just happened with my UI Online account. Yesterday I logged in to certify for my benefits as usual (for weeks ending 4/29 and 5/6). I went through all the certification questions for both weeks, entered all my work search activities, got to the confirmation screen, entered my zip code, and clicked submit. But instead of getting a confirmation number, I got redirected to a screen saying 'You do not have any weeks to certify. Check back after 5/12/2025 for your next available weeks.' Now there's absolutely NOTHING showing in my payment history for those two weeks I just certified for! It's like they completely vanished. Has anyone experienced this weird glitch? Did my certification actually go through despite the error message? Should I try to call EDD (ugh) or just wait until after 5/12 and see what happens? I'm worried my payment will be delayed and I can't afford that right now.

This happened to me back in January! The system was glitchy that day and it turned out my certification DID go through despite the error message. When I checked my UI Online account the next day, both weeks showed up as "pending" in my payment history. I'd recommend checking your homepage dashboard and payment history tomorrow - it might just need time to process in their system.

•Thanks for giving me some hope! I've checked it three times today and still nothing showing up. I'll try again tomorrow morning. Do you remember how long it took before yours appeared in the system?

•It's somewhat comforting to know I'm not alone, but also terrible that we're both in this situation! Have you tried calling EDD yet? Please update if you get any info!

The EDD system has been having all kinds of technical problems lately. I'm in an EDD Facebook group and at least 5 people reported the same issue in the past 48 hours. From what I can tell, this is happening because they're doing updates to UI Online. Most people are saying their certifications eventually processed correctly, but some had to recertify later. You should check these things: 1. Look in your inbox for any messages about your certification 2. Check your account history tab, not just payment history 3. Take screenshots of everything in case you need to prove you tried to certify on time

•Thank you for the detailed advice! I checked my inbox and account history, but still nothing. I'll definitely take screenshots like you suggested. Do you know if the people in your Facebook group had to call EDD to resolve this, or did it fix itself?

This is why I HATE the EDD system!! Every time they do an "upgrade" something breaks. Last time I called about a similar issue they told me "just wait 48 hours and see if it resolves itself" which is the most useless advice ever when you're depending on that money. Call them ASAP - the longer you wait, the more backlogged your payment could get.

•OMG yesssss!!! Remember when they did that big update in February and everyone's identity verification got reset? I couldn't get paid for THREE WEEKS because of their stupid "upgrade"! 🤬

After my certification disappered like yours did i went ahead and attempted to recertify but it wouldnt let me because the system thought i already had done it! Then 2 days later my weeks showed up as pending and then paid the next day. The EDD computers are from like 1985 lol

•Their system really does seem ancient! I tried to recertify but got the same message about checking back after 5/12. I guess I'll give it another day or two before panicking completely.

I'd recommend calling EDD right away to report this issue. The system sometimes has these glitches where the certification appears to go through but gets stuck in a processing loop. An EDD representative can check if your certification was actually received and push it through manually if needed. The challenge is getting through on their phone lines. I had great success using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to connect with an EDD agent quickly instead of calling hundreds of times. They have a video showing how it works here: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km. It helped me resolve a similar certification issue within hours instead of waiting days or weeks hoping it would fix itself.

•Thank you for the suggestion! I've been trying to call all morning with no luck - just constant busy signals. I'll check out that service you mentioned because I really can't afford to wait weeks for this to resolve itself.

UPDATE: I talked to someone at EDD today after 43 attempts calling. Apparently this is a known issue affecting certain accounts during certification. The agent confirmed my certifications WERE received despite the error message, but they're stuck in processing. She had to manually release them from the queue. Check your account again in 24-48 hours.

•Thank you so much for the update! This is super helpful. I'm still trying to get through on the phone but now at least I know what to ask them to do when I finally reach someone. Did they give you any explanation for why this is happening?

•They said something about a database synchronization problem between the certification system and the payment processing system. Basically the info gets stuck between systems. The rep also mentioned they're still working on fixing the issue so it doesn't keep happening. Good luck getting through!

UPDATE: Finally was able to speak with an EDD representative today! For anyone who has this problem in the future: my certifications DID go through despite the error message, but they were stuck in the system and needed to be manually released. The rep did something on their end and now both weeks are showing as "paid" in my account. She said they're aware of the technical issue and working on a fix. Thank you everyone for your help and advice!

Thank you for sharing this detailed experience and keeping everyone updated! This is incredibly helpful for anyone who might face this same issue in the future. It's reassuring to know that even when the system shows that confusing error message, the certifications can still go through successfully - they just get stuck and need manual intervention from EDD staff. Your persistence in calling and getting it resolved gives hope to others dealing with similar technical glitches. The EDD system really needs major improvements, but at least there are ways to get these issues fixed when you can reach the right person!

•This whole thread has been such a lifesaver! I'm new to dealing with EDD and this kind of technical issue would have sent me into a complete panic. It's amazing how many people have experienced the same problem - really shows how widespread these system glitches are. @3889e6ce151f thanks for being so thorough with your updates, it gives the rest of us a roadmap for what to do if this happens to us. I'm definitely bookmarking this post in case I run into similar issues down the road!

Wow, reading through this entire thread as someone new to the EDD system has been both terrifying and reassuring at the same time! I just started collecting unemployment last month and had no idea these kinds of technical glitches were so common. It's really concerning that the system can just make your certification "disappear" like that, but I'm so glad to see that @3889e6ce151f was able to get it resolved and that so many people jumped in to help with advice and similar experiences. This community is amazing! I'm definitely going to save all these tips about taking screenshots, checking multiple sections of the account, and being persistent with calling EDD. Hopefully I never run into this issue, but if I do, at least now I know it's fixable and that the certifications usually do go through despite the scary error messages. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - this is exactly the kind of real-world knowledge that makes this community so valuable!

•I'm also pretty new to the EDD system and this thread has been incredibly eye-opening! It's both scary and comforting to see how many people have dealt with similar glitches. What really stands out to me is how helpful everyone was in sharing their experiences and solutions. @3889e6ce151f did such a great job keeping everyone updated throughout the process, and @618db9ad3f82 @355f439fa497 and others provided really practical advice. It's posts like this that make me feel less alone when dealing with these bureaucratic systems. I'm definitely going to follow the advice about taking screenshots of everything - that seems like such a smart precaution that I never would have thought of on my own!

This is such a valuable thread for anyone dealing with EDD issues! I've been collecting unemployment for about 6 months now and thankfully haven't encountered this specific glitch, but reading everyone's experiences here has taught me so much about what to do if something like this happens. The fact that @3889e6ce151f kept everyone updated throughout the entire process is incredibly helpful - it shows the timeline of how long these issues can take to resolve and what steps actually work. I'm definitely going to start taking screenshots of my certifications before submitting them, just in case. It's also good to know that even when the system shows those scary error messages, the certifications often do go through and just get stuck in processing. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences and advice - this community really is a lifeline for navigating EDD's complicated system!

This thread is exactly what I needed to see! I'm brand new to unemployment benefits (just filed my first claim two weeks ago) and honestly had no idea the EDD system could have glitches this serious. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been both educational and reassuring - it's scary that certifications can just vanish like that, but knowing that they usually do go through and just get stuck in the system makes me feel much better about the whole process. @3889e6ce151f thank you for being so thorough with your updates and showing us exactly how this gets resolved! I'm definitely going to follow all the advice here about taking screenshots, checking multiple sections of my account, and being persistent if I ever run into similar issues. This community is amazing - the way everyone jumped in to help with advice and share their own experiences really shows how supportive this group is. I feel so much more prepared to handle any EDD issues that might come up now!

•Welcome to the EDD world! I'm also relatively new to this system (about 4 months in) and this thread has been such an eye-opener. It's amazing how quickly you learn that what seems like a catastrophic error is often just another day with EDD's ancient technology! @3889e6ce151f really did an incredible job documenting this whole process - it's like having a step-by-step guide for when (not if) something goes wrong with your certification. The screenshot advice from @f3afee8a0bac is pure gold - I started doing that after my second certification and it's already saved me once when I had a minor glitch. It's both comforting and frustrating to realize how common these issues are, but at least we have this amazing community to help navigate through all the bureaucratic chaos!

This thread is absolutely golden for anyone dealing with EDD! As someone who's been on unemployment for about 8 months now, I can confirm that these system glitches are unfortunately super common. I've had my certification "disappear" twice - once it resolved itself after 3 days, and another time I had to call EDD to get it manually processed like @3889e6ce151f did. A few additional tips from my experience: - Always certify early in the morning (like 6-8 AM) when fewer people are using the system - If you get that "no weeks to certify" error, try logging out completely, clearing your browser cache, and logging back in - Keep a record of your work search activities separately in case you need to re-enter them The EDD system is definitely frustrating, but posts like this prove that almost every issue can be resolved with enough persistence. Thanks @3889e6ce151f for documenting everything so thoroughly - this is going to help so many people!
