Missing month in EDD payment history after certification - will this affect payment?

I'm totally freaking out right now. I just certified for my UI benefits today like normal, but when I went to check the payment status in my UI Online account under the 'Payment History' section, I noticed something super weird. The entire month of January is completely MISSING from my history! It jumps straight from the end of December 2024 to today's certification. Has anyone experienced this glitch before? I'm worried this will mess up my payment calculation or delay my funds hitting my Money Network card. My rent is due next week and I can't afford any payment delays. Should I call EDD about this or will it fix itself?

Don't panic yet! This happened to me back in October. The EDD system sometimes does weird stuff after maintenance updates. My missing weeks showed back up after about 48 hours. Just keep checking your UI Online account. If it doesn't appear by Wednesday, then you should definitely contact them.

Omg thank you! That gives me some hope. Did your payment still process on time even with the history glitch?

Just checked my inbox and there's nothing new there. But I'll keep an eye on it, thanks!

This is actually a known issue with the UI Online system during quarter changes. January marks the beginning of a new quarter, and sometimes the system temporarily hides the previous quarter's data while updating benefit year calculations. However, EDD's database still has all your information intact. Here's what you need to know: 1. Your payment should still process normally despite the history display issue 2. The missing month typically reappears within 2-3 business days 3. This doesn't affect your claim balance or benefit amount 4. Your certification data is still in their system even if you can't see it If it doesn't reappear by the end of the week or if your payment is delayed beyond the normal 48-hour processing time, then you should contact EDD for assistance.

Thank you SO much for that detailed explanation! It makes perfect sense with the quarter change. I'll try to be patient and wait a few days before panicking.

If you're worried about this affecting your payment, you might want to try reaching out to EDD directly. I was in a similar situation last month and couldn't get through on the regular phone lines for days. I eventually used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to help me connect with an EDD representative without the endless busy signals and getting disconnected. They have a video that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km The agent I spoke with confirmed my payment was still processing normally despite the missing history display and explained it was due to end-of-quarter system updates. Saved me a lot of stress knowing for sure rather than just hoping it would resolve itself.

is that service legit? seems sketchy to pay just to talk to edd

It worked for me when I couldn't get through for over a week. They don't handle any of your EDD info or claim details - they just help you bypass the phone tree problems. After trying for days on my own, it was worth it to finally speak to someone.

THE EDD SYSTEM IS TOTAL GARBAGE!!! This happens ALL THE TIME and nobody at EDD seems to care how stressful it is for people who DEPEND on these payments! I had THREE MONTHS disappear from my history last year and spent WEEKS trying to get it fixed. Called 67 times in one day!!! They need to upgrade their ancient system instead of torturing unemployed people who are already struggling!!!

While I understand your frustration, this particular issue is usually just a temporary display glitch rather than an actual data loss. The EDD system does periodic updates, especially during quarter transitions, and sometimes the payment history display is affected. I work in IT and these kinds of database refreshes are common in large government systems. The data isn't actually gone - it's just not displaying properly during the update. In most cases, it resolves itself within 2-3 business days without requiring any action from the claimant. Of course, if it doesn't reappear after a few days or if your payment is delayed, then it's appropriate to contact EDD for assistance.

UPDATE: You guys were right! The missing month just reappeared in my payment history this morning, and I got the notification that my payment was processed normally. Thanks everyone for helping me not panic (too much)! For anyone else who has this happen - just wait a few days before freaking out like I did.

Thanks for the update! This is exactly what typically happens with the quarter-change display issue. Glad your payment is processing normally.

So glad to see your update! This is exactly why I always tell people in this community to wait a few days before panicking about EDD system glitches. The quarter-end processing can cause all sorts of temporary display issues, but the underlying data is usually fine. Your experience will definitely help other members who run into the same thing in the future!

I'm so relieved this worked out for you! I've been following EDD issues in this community for months and this quarter-change glitch seems to happen pretty regularly. Your post and the helpful responses here are going to be super valuable for future members who experience the same panic. I'm bookmarking this thread for reference - the explanation about quarter transitions affecting the payment history display makes total sense. Thanks for taking the time to update us with the resolution!
