EDD claim history missing an entire month - will this delay payment?
So weird thing happened after certifying today. I logged into UI Online and when I checked my payment history, there's this strange gap. The entire month of January is completely missing! It shows December payments fine, then nothing for January, and now my new certification. I'm worried my payment will get held up because of this glitch. Has anyone else had their payment history just disappear like this? I've been on unemployment since November after getting laid off from construction work, and I really need this payment to come through on time. Should I call EDD about this or is it just a display issue that won't affect anything?

Don't panic yet! This is actually a common UI Online display glitch that happens sometimes after system updates. I experienced something similar last year where two weeks disappeared from my history, but my payment still processed normally. As long as you can see your certification status as "pending payment" under the current week, your payment should still process. The history tab is just a record display and doesn't actually affect payment processing.

•Really? That's a relief! So where exactly should I look to see the "pending payment" status? I'm not sure I'm looking in the right place. Is it under the Certification tab or somewhere else?

this happened to me 2x already!! the system is SO BROKEN its ridiculous. half the time the website crashes when im trying to certify and now this??? my theory is they do it on purpose to confuse people so they give up on getting benefits they deserve. i had to call 63 TIMES last week to get someone on the phone about another issue. EDD is THE WORST.

•That's so frustrating! Have you tried Claimyr to get through to EDD? I was calling for days with no luck, then used their service at claimyr.com and got connected to an agent in under 25 minutes. They have this system that calls for you and puts you in line with EDD. There's even a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km. Seriously saved me when I had a similar history glitch that turned into a bigger problem.

To directly answer your question: No, it usually won't affect your payment. The UI Online payment history display and the actual payment processing are separate systems. Here's what to check: 1. Go to "Home" tab, not "History" 2. Look at "Last Payment Issued" - if it shows your most recent payment, you're good 3. Check "Notifications" for any alerts If your certification status shows "pending payment" or "paid" for the weeks you just certified, then the system has properly recorded your certification regardless of what appears in History. The history glitch typically resolves itself within 3-5 business days.

•Thank you! I checked the Home tab and it does show my last payment was issued correctly. And the weeks I just certified show as pending. I guess I'll just wait a few days and see if the History tab fixes itself. Really appreciate the detailed explanation!

i saw a similar thing on my account last month but then everything just showed up again after like 2 days so maybe wait a bit before freaking out? its probably just some computer thing

OMG the same thing is happening to me right now!!! I certified yesterday and my entire December is missing from history! Should we be taking screenshots of everything just in case?? What if they try to say we weren't paid and then demand all that money back later?? I'm so stressed about this because I had an overpayment situation before and it was NIGHTMARE to resolve!!!

•Taking screenshots is always a good practice, but this is almost certainly just a display issue. The EDD maintains separate backend records of all payments issued. If you're really concerned, you can request your payment history by submitting a DE 8714 form through UI Online under "Contact EDD". They'll mail you an official record of all benefits paid. But again, this is almost certainly just a temporary UI display issue.

This reminded me of something that happened to my cousin last year. He had gaps in his history but then also started getting these weird partial payments. Turns out he had unreported income they found from a side gig so they were adjusting his benefits. You didn't do any work in January that you forgot to report, did you? Just checking because sometimes that can cause weird stuff with your claim.

•No, no unreported income here. I've been completely honest with all my certifications. I did pick up two days of work in early January but I reported it properly when I certified that week. The pay was only $240 so my benefit was reduced accordingly for that week. Everything else has been $0 income weeks.

Update: I just spoke with my neighbor who works in IT (not for EDD but another state agency) and he said they've been doing backend updates to the benefits systems this past weekend. That could explain why you're seeing display issues today. If the problem persists beyond Wednesday, then it might be worth calling, but I'll bet it resolves itself by then.

•of COURSE they do system updates right when people need to certify and get paid!!! so typical of how they operate with zero consideration for people who actually need money to SURVIVE

•Thanks for the update, that makes sense. I'll give it until Thursday before I try calling them then. Really appreciate everyone's help and advice!

Just as a final note - I checked the EDD Twitter account and they actually posted about scheduled maintenance this past weekend. They don't always announce every backend update, but that confirms the system was being worked on. Typically after maintenance, there can be display glitches that resolve themselves within a few business days. Your payment processing should continue normally despite these display issues.

•Oh perfect! That totally explains it then. I'll keep an eye on my account and my Bank of America card to make sure the payment comes through normally. Thanks again everyone!

I had this exact same issue happen to me back in February! My entire January was missing from the payment history tab, and I was so worried my payments would get messed up. But just like others have said, it really is just a display glitch. My payments continued to process normally, and the missing history showed back up about 4 days later. The key thing is to check your certification status on the Home tab - if it says "pending payment" you're all good. I've learned not to stress about the History tab anymore since it seems to have these glitches pretty regularly after they do system maintenance.
