EDD website showing no weeks to certify despite approved claim - system glitch?
I'm completely baffled by what's happening with my UI Online account right now. My unemployment claim was approved about 10 days ago (got the official notice in the mail last Thursday), but when I log in to certify, it says 'No Weeks Available.' Under History, it clearly shows I have 3 weeks ready for certification, but the certification section won't let me access them! I've tried logging out/back in, using different browsers, even my phone, but nothing works. I've called EDD literally 27 times this week - either get the 'too many callers' message or it disconnects after the automated menu. Sent a message through UI Online 4 days ago with no response. Is anyone else experiencing this weird glitch? Is the system down for maintenance or something? Getting really worried since rent is due next week and I was counting on this payment. Any ideas what to do when you can SEE the weeks that need certification but the system won't let you actually certify them?

Yes, this is actually a known issue that's been happening since they updated the UI Online system last month. It's a display glitch where the system recognizes you have weeks to certify but the certification page doesn't show them. I had the same problem in March and finally got it resolved. There are three possible fixes: 1. Try accessing the certification page directly through this specific path: After logging in, go to Home > Certification > View Form instead of just clicking the main Certify button 2. Sometimes the weeks appear if you try certifying exactly at midnight on Sunday when the system refreshes 3. If neither works, you need to speak with a tier 2 specialist who can manually release the weeks for certification on their end The third option fixed it for me, but it took 8 days of calling to reach someone who could help.

•Thank you so much! I tried your first suggestion and unfortunately that didn't work. I'll try the midnight thing this Sunday. Did you have to do anything special to reach a tier 2 specialist? I'm getting desperate at this point.

•It's so frustrating! Have you been able to get through to anyone on the phone? I'm wondering if this is a widespread issue they're working on or if we need to do something on our end to fix it.

I work as an employment counselor and have seen this issue with several clients recently. It's not actually a system-wide maintenance problem, but rather a specific glitch that affects claims where there was a gap between filing and approval, or where there was an identity verification that completed successfully but didn't fully update all parts of the system. The most effective solution is reaching a tier 2 specialist who can manually release the certification weeks. Unfortunately, getting through to EDD by phone is extremely difficult right now due to high call volumes. I've had clients successfully use Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to an EDD representative. It's a service that essentially keeps calling EDD for you until it gets through, then connects you. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km Once you get through, specifically ask for a tier 2 specialist and explain that you can see weeks to certify in your history but they're not appearing in the certification section. They'll need to manually release those weeks on their end.

•not everyone has extra $$ to spend on services just to talk to EDD!!!! this is RIDICULOUS that we have to pay just to get our benefits that we're entitled to!! the whole system is broken!!

Are you sure your claim is actually active? Sometimes EDD approves a claim but then puts it on hold for eligibility issues. Check if your claim status says "Active" or something else. Also there's a difference between being approved and being eligible for payment. Did you receive the award letter with your weekly benefit amount? You might be in a conditional approval waiting for something else.

•Yes, I received the award letter showing my weekly benefit amount of $450 and my claim status definitely says "Active" when I check my account homepage. The really strange part is that under History it shows the specific weeks I need to certify (4/2-4/8, 4/9-4/15, and 4/16-4/22) with status "Not Paid" and reason "Certification not filed" - but when I go to Certify for Benefits, it says no weeks available!

OMG exact same thing happened to me last month!!! I thought I was going crazy lol. For me it randomly fixed itself after like 9 days but I was stressing the ENTIRE time. Have you tried using a completely different device? My laptop wouldn't work but when I used my sister's iPad it suddenly showed the weeks. Weird system glitch maybe?

•That's interesting! I've tried my laptop and phone but not a tablet. I'll see if I can borrow one from a friend. 9 days of waiting sounds awful though - I'm already going nuts after 4 days.

Just wanted to add - if you're having trouble reaching someone at EDD and getting desperate, try calling right when they open at 8:00 AM. Also, selecting the option for "filing a new claim" sometimes gets you through to a representative faster even if you're not filing a new claim. Once you get an actual person, explain your situation and ask to be transferred to a tier 2 specialist.

•I tried that "filing a new claim" trick last week when I had a different issue, and it worked! Got through in about 45 minutes instead of never. The rep wasn't even mad about it - she said lots of people do that because the regular support line is always full.

Have you checked if you have any outstanding tasks or messages in your UI Online inbox? Sometimes there's a questionnaire or form they need you to complete before they'll release weeks for certification. The system doesn't always make it obvious when something is pending from you.

•I just double-checked and my inbox is completely empty. No tasks, no messages, nothing showing as incomplete. It's like the system knows I need to certify but won't let me do it. So strange and frustrating!

Honestly I tried calling for days and never got through until I used Claimyr. I was skeptical but it worked - I got through to EDD in like 30 minutes after trying on my own for a week. The agent fixed my similar issue right away once I actually got to talk to someone. Their video explains exactly how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km

•That's good to know, thanks! I'm going to try the midnight certification trick on Sunday first, but if that doesn't work I'll probably give Claimyr a shot. At this point I just need to get this fixed before rent is due.

Just a random suggestion - have you tried using the "Ask EDD" feature instead of calling? Sometimes they respond to those messages faster than you can get through on the phone. Go to Contact Us > Ask EDD > Claims Questions > Where is my Payment. Worth a shot while you're trying other methods.

•I did submit an Ask EDD question 4 days ago but haven't heard back yet. Maybe I'll try submitting another one with different wording in case that helps get their attention. Thanks for the suggestion!

UPDATE: I just called a relative who works for the county and has EDD contacts. She said this specific issue (weeks showing in history but not in certification) is happening because of a database sync problem after their April system update. They're aware of it and working on a fix, but no ETA. For now, getting through to a tier 2 specialist is still the only guaranteed solution because they can manually override it.

•Thank you so much for the update! At least it's somewhat reassuring to know it's a known issue and not just something wrong with my specific claim. I'll keep trying to reach a specialist. Really appreciate all the help from everyone!
