EDD system glitch preventing certification - UI Online shows 'no weeks available' but benefits still owed
Is anyone else dealing with certification problems in the UI Online system right now? My husband's account is showing 'no weeks available to certify' even though he definitely has weeks remaining on his claim. His last payment was processed on January 21st, and he should have been able to certify again this past Sunday. We've tried multiple approaches: - Logging in at different times of day - Using different browsers and clearing cache - Trying to certify by phone (failed) - Calling the regular EDD number (system hangs up saying 'too many callers') His claim is active until July 2025 and he's received regular payments until this sudden issue. Nothing has changed with his employment status. Really worried since rent is due next week and we're counting on this payment. Has anyone experienced this certification glitch recently or know how to get it fixed?

•How long has it been going on for you? Did you try calling the technical support line instead of the regular number? We're going to try that tomorrow morning.

I had this exact problem last month. The issue is that there's a system flag on the account that needs to be manually removed by a tier 2 specialist. It's usually caused when there's a quarterly review of your claim or if there was any earnings reported that triggered a review. The problem is getting through to someone who can actually help. What worked for me was calling exactly at 8:01 AM. If you call right when they open at 8:00, you'll hit the queue with everyone else. But I found 8:01 had slightly less traffic. Press 1-2-4 when prompted to get to the claims department faster. You might still get the 'too many callers' message for a few days, but persistence is key.

•This happened to me too but the 8:01 trick didn't work AT ALL. Called for TWO WEEKS STRAIGHT and couldn't get anyone. The EDD system is COMPLETELY BROKEN and they don't care about regular people!!! My certification issue finally fixed itself after 3 weeks but I had to take out a payday loan just to pay my electric bill. It's RIDICULOUS that they expect people to survive with zero income while they 'fix glitches.' 😡

I work in HR and we've had several employees mention this same issue just this week. From what I understand, EDD is doing some kind of system maintenance or update that's affecting certification specifically. One of our former employees said she was told it should resolve within 10 days, but that doesn't help with immediate bills!

•10 days?! That's ridiculous - we can't wait that long. Did your employee mention if there's any way to request an emergency payment or bypass this issue in the meantime?

This happened to my roommate last month after his quarterly review. The key is getting through to an actual EDD representative who can see what's going on with your husband's claim specifically. The problem might be a flag on his account for quarterly review, identity verification, or even just a system glitch. For what it's worth, my roommate tried for days using the regular EDD number with no luck. He finally used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got him connected to an EDD rep within about 30 minutes. They have a video showing how it works here: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km The rep was able to see that there was an automatic hold placed during quarterly review, and they removed it right away. His certification opened up immediately after the call and he was able to get paid the next day. Might be worth trying if you're in a tight spot financially.

I've been dealing with EDD for over 10 years now (seasonal worker) and this is actually a fairly common issue after quarterly reviews. The system sometimes puts an automatic hold on certification while they verify prior quarterly wages, especially if your husband had ANY income reported during the last quarter (even a tiny amount). There are three ways this can resolve: 1. Wait it out - usually takes 7-14 days for the system to automatically clear the hold 2. Contact a representative who can manually override it (the hard part) 3. Submit a message through UI Online asking specifically about the certification issue For option #3, go to Contact EDD > Question Category: Payments > Sub-category: Certification Questions > Detail: Write a clear message explaining the situation and explicitly ask them to check for holds on the account. Sometimes they'll respond within 48 hours and fix it remotely. Hope that helps!

•Thank you so much for this detailed information! We did submit a message through the UI Online portal yesterday but haven't heard back yet. We'll try your suggestion about the specific categories - we just picked general questions before. Really appreciate the advice!

My sister has the same problem right now! But she said when she called the 833 number instead of the 800 number she actually got through yesterday. Try the 833-978-2511 number. I think it's the technical support line or something.

•That 833 number just redirects to the same call queue as the regular number. It used to be different but they changed it last year. The hold music is different at first but you end up in the same place trust me lol

Just wanted to check if you've made any progress with this issue? Were you able to get through to EDD?

•Update: We finally got through using the Claimyr service that someone recommended above. It actually worked! Got connected to a Tier 2 specialist who confirmed there was a quarterly review flag on my husband's account. She removed it immediately and we were able to certify right after the call ended. Payment is now pending in the system. Such a relief! For anyone else with this issue - definitely try to speak with an actual rep rather than waiting for the system to fix itself.

i tried using that claimyr thing and got through today too! my problem was different tho, they said i answered a certification question wrong and that triggered a stop. rep fixed it in like 2 minutes once i finally got someone on the phone. why cant they just tell us whats wrong instead of making us guess??

•Because the system is DESIGNED to make it hard to get benefits!! They're hoping people give up so they don't have to pay. Been this way for YEARS and nobody fixes it!
