EDD website down for certification - can't login since Sunday

Has anyone been able to certify for benefits this week? I've been trying to log in to UI Online since Sunday morning to certify my weeks, but the site keeps giving me an error saying "We are experiencing high volume. Please try again later." It's now Tuesday and I STILL can't get in! My rent is due next week and I'm getting really anxious about missing my certification window. Is the whole EDD system down or is it just happening to me? Anyone else facing this issue or know when it'll be back up?

The system has been glitchy since Sunday night. I was able to get in around 3am Monday morning when traffic was low. Try logging in very early morning or late night when fewer people are trying to access the system. Also, try using a different browser or clearing your cache. Sometimes that helps with the UI Online connection issues.

Thanks for the tip! I'll try logging in around 2am tonight. Did you have any issues after you got in? I'm worried that even if I manage to log in, the certification might not go through properly.

yep its down for me 2. stupid edd always does this on certification weekends when EVERYONE is trying to certify at the same time. why dont they fix their servers already??

Unfortunately, EDD's infrastructure hasn't kept up with demand. This happens almost predictably every other month when certification weeks align for a large number of claimants. Their system wasn't designed to handle peak concurrent users. But don't worry - they typically extend certification deadlines when there are widespread system issues.

I experienced the same problem and was getting super frustrated with the EDD website! I finally got through by using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to reach an EDD representative directly. They helped me certify over the phone since the website was down. Saved me hours of stress and trying to get through the regular phone line. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km. The rep told me they're aware of the website issues and are working on it, but who knows how long that will take.

Is this Claimyr thing actually legit? Sounds sketchy to have a third party help with unemployment stuff. Aren't you worried about giving your information to some random service?

This reminds me of when this happened back in February and I couldn't certify for THREE WEEKS! I ended up having to go to the actual EDD office in person to get it sorted out. The lady there told me they were updating their systems or something. Anyway I had to do backdate certifications for all those weeks I missed. It was a whole mess. Hope you get in soon!

Oh no, that sounds awful! I really hope it doesn't take three weeks this time. Did they pay you for all those missed weeks once you finally got it sorted out?

There's a scheduled maintenance period that was supposed to end Monday morning, but they're experiencing extended technical difficulties. Here's what you should know: 1. Don't panic about missing your certification window. When there are system-wide issues, EDD automatically extends deadlines. 2. Document your attempts to certify (screenshots with timestamps if possible). 3. Try alternative certification methods: the EDD telephone system (1-866-333-4606) allows certification and sometimes works when the website doesn't. 4. Keep checking their Twitter (@CA_EDD) for official updates on system status. Your benefits won't be affected by technical issues on their end. This is a known issue affecting thousands of claimants right now.

Thank you SO much for this detailed information! I've been trying the phone system too but it just hangs up after saying they're experiencing high call volume. I'll keep trying and document everything. Really appreciate knowing they'll extend the deadline!

UPDATE: I just got through on the website (10:45pm). Seems like they've fixed whatever was causing the outage. Try certifying now before everyone else realizes it's working!

OMG THANK YOU! Just logged in and was able to certify both weeks! What a relief. For anyone else reading this - the system seems to be working now!

still not working for me :( just keeps loading forever then gives error

The system may be gradually coming back online for different users. If you're still experiencing issues, continue trying periodically through the night and early morning. The load should decrease significantly after midnight.

I'm dealing with the exact same issue! Been locked out since Sunday trying to certify. This is so frustrating because I have bills coming up too. I tried calling the phone line multiple times but it just disconnects after the "high volume" message. Really hoping this gets resolved soon - it's stressful enough being unemployed without having to worry about technical issues preventing us from getting our benefits. Has anyone had luck with the mobile app or is that down too?

The mobile app has been having the same issues as the website - they use the same backend system. I tried it yesterday and got the same error messages. Based on what others are saying here, it sounds like the system is slowly coming back online for some people. @Keisha Brown mentioned getting through around 10:45pm, so maybe try again during off-peak hours like really late at night or very early morning when fewer people are online. Don t'stress too much about the deadline - from what I ve'read, EDD extends certification windows when there are widespread technical problems like this.
