Can't log into UI Online account for days - 'System unavailable' message keeps appearing
Is anyone else having trouble accessing their UI Online account? I've been trying to log in for the past 3 days and keep getting the 'System Currently Unavailable' message. I need to check my claim balance and make sure my certification went through properly. I've tried different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, even Edge), cleared my cache/cookies, and even tried on my phone but nothing works. When I call EDD, I just get the automated message saying they're experiencing high call volume before it hangs up. I'm starting to panic because my rent is due next week and I need to know if my payment is processing! Anyone having the same issue or know how to get past this?

•Have you found any way to get through? I'm getting really worried about missing my certification window.

The UI Online system has scheduled maintenance periods and sometimes unexpected outages. Try logging in during off-peak hours - early morning (6-7am) or late evening (after 10pm) when there's less traffic. Also, make sure you're going to the correct website. The direct URL is https://portal.edd.ca.gov/WebApp/Login?resource_url=https://portal.edd.ca.gov/WebApp/Home

•Thanks, I'll try the early morning login tomorrow. And yes, I'm using that exact URL - I have it bookmarked. It just keeps showing the system error no matter what time I try.

I had the same problem last month and it turned out my account was locked because of too many failed login attempts (even though I was SURE I used the right password). Had to call to get it reset but couldn't get through for a week. SO ANNOYING.

This could be one of three issues: 1) Temporary system maintenance (usually resolves within 24-48 hours), 2) Account lockout from failed login attempts, or 3) ID verification issue requiring you to re-verify through ID.me. Since it's been multiple days, it's less likely to be maintenance. Try the "Forgot Password" option - if that works, your account isn't locked. If you get the same error, you likely need to speak with a rep to unlock your account or fix an ID verification issue.

•I tried the forgot password option yesterday and got the same error message. Seems like I definitely need to speak with someone, but that's exactly the problem - can't get through on the phone!

Have you tried using Claimyr to get through to EDD? That's what finally worked for me after trying for days. They connect you directly to an EDD agent and bypass the hold times. Their site is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km I was skeptical at first but they got me through to an agent in about 20 minutes when I had been trying for a week. The rep unlocked my account and I was able to log in right away.

•Yes, it really works! I was in the same situation last month - needed to certify but couldn't get into my account. The EDD rep told me there was a verification flag on my account causing the login issues. Fixed it in minutes once I actually got through to someone.

Don't forget that if you're having login issues but just need to certify for benefits, you can also use TeleCert at 1-866-333-4606. It's not as convenient as the website but at least you won't miss your certification window.

•I actually tried TeleCert but it says I need to speak to a representative before I can certify. Seems like my account has some kind of hold on it, but I have no idea what it could be.

this happens to me ALL THE TIME and its always because the edd website is garbage lol. sometimes i just wait a day and it magically works again. their IT department must be running on windows 95 or something 🙄

You might also want to check if your account is locked because of suspected fraud. My neighbor got locked out for 2 weeks and turns out someone tried to hack her account so EDD locked it automatically. Had to call and verify identity all over again.

I actually just had this problem and resolved it yesterday. For me, it turned out my ID.me verification had expired and I had to redo it. The weird thing was EDD never emailed me about it. I finally got through to a rep who told me exactly what was wrong and sent me a new ID.me link. Was able to log in within an hour after completing the verification. Definitely sounds like you need to speak with someone.

•That's really helpful, thank you! I did my ID.me verification about 6 months ago when I first filed my claim, so maybe that's the issue. I'll definitely look into the Claimyr service someone mentioned above - seems like talking to a rep is the only way to solve this.

UPDATE: EDD just posted on their Twitter account that they're experiencing technical difficulties with UI Online access and are working to resolve it. They're asking people to try again in 24-48 hours. Might explain why so many people are having issues right now.

•Thanks for the update! That's somewhat reassuring that it's not just me. I'll still try to get through on the phone though since I really need to check if my payment processed.
