SDI claim stuck - no continued claim certificate received, payments stopped. Help?
I'm having trouble with my SDI claim. My online account says I need to submit a continued claim certificate to keep getting payments, but I never got the form in my inbox or mailbox. Now I'm not receiving any money. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm worried about calling and giving out my SSN. Any advice on how to handle this situation?

Unpopular opinion: maybe we should all just get jobs instead of relying on the government 🤷♂️

•I have a job. I'm on SDI because I'm temporarily disabled. Thanks for the "advice" though 🙃

Have you tried interpretive dance to communicate with EDD? Might be more effective than their current system 💃🕺

•LMAO 🤣 Maybe we should all show up and do a flash mob outside their office

Have you tried faxing the form? Sometimes old school methods work better with these dinosaur systems 🦕

•Faxing? What year is it? 😂 But seriously, where would I even find a fax machine?

•Lol, I know right? But there are online fax services. Or check your local library. Trust me, it's worth a shot!

•Faxing may seem outdated, but sometimes it's the only way to get through. Give it a try!

Has anyone tried carrier pigeon? Might be faster than EDD's current system 🐦📬

Hey OP, don't stress about giving your SSN. Just make sure you're calling the official number. They need it to verify your identity. It's totally normal.

•Thanks, that makes me feel better. I'll give them a call tomorrow.

•Just be careful. There are scammers out there posing as EDD. Double check the number!

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes those forms end up there. Also, make sure your address is up to date in the system.

While using Claimyr to expedite your call to the EDD can be helpful, it's important to weigh the pros and cons. The tool helps bypass the lengthy hold times, and many have found it effective in reaching a representative more quickly than traditional calling methods. However, considering the $20 cost, it might not be the best option for everyone, especially if you're on a tight budget. There are also more traditional methods, like calling during off-peak hours or using alternative contact methods like email or fax, which might still get the job done without an additional fee. It's a balancing act between saving time and spending money, so choose what aligns best with your circumstances.

PSA: If you're having trouble with EDD, contact your local legal aid office. They often have resources to help navigate the system for free!

Here's what worked for me: 1. Email them every day (yes, EVERY day) until you get a response. 2. Reach out to your local state representative. They can sometimes expedite things. 3. Be persistent but polite. The people answering phones are just doing their job. 4. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 5. If all else fails, consider filing a formal complaint. Don't give up! The squeaky wheel gets the grease 💪

Hey, former EDD employee here. The system is overwhelmed, but there are ways to get through: 1. Best times to call are Tuesday-Thursday, either right at opening or an hour before closing. 2. If you get a rep who seems unhelpful, politely end the call and try again. Some are better than others. 3. Be prepared with all your info before you call. It speeds things up. 4. If you're not getting anywhere, ask to speak to a tier 2 specialist. Hope this helps!

This is why we need to overhaul the entire system. It's not fit for purpose anymore. Anyone know if there's any legislation in the works to fix this mess?

Pro tip: call right when they open. You might have to try a few days in a row, but it's your best shot at getting through.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://claimyr.com

Ugh, I've been there. The EDD system is a nightmare. Here's what you need to do: 1. Call them ASAP. Don't worry about giving your SSN - it's standard procedure. 2. Ask them to resend the form or submit it online if possible. 3. Keep a record of who you talked to and when. 4. Follow up relentlessly until it's resolved. Good luck, and don't give up!

•I would add to try reaching out during non-peak hours. It sometimes makes the wait shorter!

I had the exact same issue last month! The continued claim certificate never showed up in my mail or online account. Here's what finally worked for me: 1. Call the SDI line directly (not the UI line) - they have separate phone systems 2. When you get through, explain that you never received the form and your payments stopped 3. They can email you a link to submit it online or mail a new one immediately 4. Ask them to note in your file that there was a delivery issue so your payments can be backdated The wait times suck, but don't let that stop you from calling. You earned those benefits! Also, definitely don't worry about giving your SSN - they need it to verify your identity and access your claim. Just make sure you're calling the official number from the EDD website. Hang in there - you'll get this sorted out! 💪
